how low is my car? - ct-hdi - 04-02-2016

Right basically my spring has snapped and want to get more ordered. Was sure they were 60mm but not after searching loads of threads I aren't too sure if it's 60mm or 40mm

I running 195 45 16s... here's a pic:

IF It's 40mm... to anyone that has 60mm drop on 16s.. are there any rubbing issues?

Thats 40mm imo

RE: how low is my car? - ct-hdi - 04-02-2016

I have seen 40 and 60mm hdi springs.... is there a way of getting something in between?

RE: how low is my car? - Iaitoo - 04-02-2016

Just get adjustable ones?

RE: how low is my car? - ct-hdi - 04-02-2016

Coilovers? Bit pricey really. Cheap coilovers are crap ride aren't they?

Also do you get any problems with 60mm drop and 16s

RE: how low is my car? - welshpug - 04-02-2016

thats more than 40 on the back

RE: how low is my car? - ct-hdi - 04-02-2016

Yea I'm thinking 50/60 on rear. From reading back my old.progress thread on .net I think it's on gti6 shocks and 40mm gti6 springs. Would that mean it's not 40 drop on a hdi? Or more than 40mm on a hdi?

RE: how low is my car? - WiNgNuTz - 04-02-2016

I'd say if you're going lower than 40mm, make sure you use uprated shocks, as 60mm on standard shocks will end up quite crashy. If you do go 60mm at the front, don't touch the back. Wink

RE: how low is my car? - ct-hdi - 04-02-2016

I don't no what to do..

Like I said, it's on 40mm gti 6 springs and shocks... if I get 40mm hdi springs to go on the gti shocks will.it be abit lower than on gti springs or higher or about the same?

RE: how low is my car? - silverzx - 05-02-2016

Not very low.

RE: how low is my car? - Eeyore - 05-02-2016

thats a 40mm drop and probably around 50mm on the rear. it looks good.

So youve got 40mm gti6 springs on a hdi? hdi lump is heavier?

i would just get the same springs as before.

RE: how low is my car? - ct-hdi - 05-02-2016

I think I'm going 60mm on front

The back sits abit lower than in that pic so should look good

RE: how low is my car? - Poodle - 06-02-2016

Gti6 lump is heavier, it might drop another 5-10mm with the right springs, but i'd be surprised if it's that noticeable.

RE: how low is my car? - 7057sam - 06-02-2016

45 maybe

RE: how low is my car? - ct-hdi - 06-02-2016

All sorted. Lowered it on 60mm springs today. The springs that were on before we're huuuge ( I got the built up 2nd hand) and now I'm thinking they weren't right for a 306. On 60mm springs and it rides so much more comfortable
