Oil burning... - dr_jekyll - 04-02-2016 Ok as described my hdi is burning abit of oil. Managed to measure it and appears to be half the dipstick (300/500ml) every month. Is this a call for concern? Cars stage 2 on its 2nd turbo. While running theres no smoke. Let it sit on idle for a while to give it a boot it smokes white a wee bit. Inside the cooler pipes theres a light black film of oil RE: Oil burning... - Poodle - 04-02-2016 A little oil in the inlet is normal, the white smoke and losing oil would indicate it's leaking on the exhaust side. Gt2052s should be on in the next few weeks anyway. Just needed to confirm a hunch lol RE: Oil burning... - Toms306 - 05-02-2016 I've lost ~500ml in the Focus since end of October...in fact it's always drunk some, but now I don't have diesel from failing regens topping it back up! Think I need to stop hitting the redline lol, but it doesn't seem all that unusual when I've asked other people. I don't usually keep cars long enough to need to top up oil. ![]() RE: Oil burning... - dr_jekyll - 05-02-2016 Got a couple of leaks to tend to aswell, a rocker and possibly sump gasket. If the sump is leaking its a minor weep but could be the oil from the rocker RE: Oil burning... - andywhy - 05-02-2016 Make sure you're running the right grade of oil too. My Passat drank oil when using 10w40 but on 5w30 it doesn't seem to touch it... Just a thought.
