Leaky diesel return line - Iaitoo - 22-01-2016 The diesel return line seems to be leaking quite alot. And it smells inside the car. The end seems to be opening. I should probably just change the hose. But it's minus 20 outside atm.. ![]() Can I plastic zip tie it? Or will the heat of the area just melt it? If I go about changing it. Any tips on how to remove it without filling the engine bay with diesel? ![]() RE: Leaky diesel return line - cully - 22-01-2016 zoom back a bit its hard to work out where it is? RE: Leaky diesel return line - Iaitoo - 22-01-2016 Not my engine bay, but its in this area ![]() Doesnt look like the smaller hose goes very far into the other one. Stops before the clampthingy. And since the other one seems to be pealing back a bit, its not weird that it leaks. RE: Leaky diesel return line - Toms306 - 22-01-2016 It's next to the cambelt cover behind the engine lifting point. Edit - Too late haha. RE: Leaky diesel return line - Iaitoo - 23-01-2016 Thanks anyways Tom, for helping locating the area ![]() RE: Leaky diesel return line - Toms306 - 23-01-2016 Lol, no problem. I don't really have any advice though! The engine heat wont melt zip ties but I'm not sure that would work anyway. You can't really change it without spilling some diesel, it won't be loads as long as you're not pumping the primer lol. Just put some rag underneath to catch it. RE: Leaky diesel return line - Iaitoo - 23-01-2016 Expecting warmer weather in a few days. Maybe I'll just go ahead and change it. Is the inner diameter 10mm on these? Bigger? As it goes over the other one ![]() |
