Instruments not illuminating - MCH - 17-01-2016 Right my dash lights went off the other day (clocks did go altogether at one point) flickered and came back on but now don't work at all... The following still illuminate; indicator signals, headlight & full beam, stop light, fuel low warning light etc But the speedo and rev counter don't illuminate... Checked fuse 19 also checked the dash dimmer (tried a known working one) also tried another set of clocks... One thing I've noticed is the mileage illumination comes and goes... It's a 1997 ph2 gti6 Any help would be appreciated Probably should clarify, other than not illuminating they currently work as they should RE: Instruments not illuminating - Matt - 18-01-2016 Check to see if the bulbs are at fault? RE: Instruments not illuminating - MCH - 19-01-2016 Turned out to be the connector... There's a locking part that pulls the connector tight into the clocks but its broken, so its not holding it tight enough... Now its just finding a way to fix it without having to cut the connector off and solder a new one on... RE: Instruments not illuminating - Paul_13 - 19-01-2016 Will one from another set of clocks not just clip on RE: Instruments not illuminating - MCH - 20-01-2016 (19-01-2016, 06:08 PM)Paul_13 Wrote: Will one from another set of clocks not just clip on its the connector block that's part of the dash loom... there's the yellow and blue plugs that clip in... its the blue one RE: Instruments not illuminating - Paul_13 - 20-01-2016 I know. What I'm trying to say is can't you nick a swivel hinge thing off another clip to save cutting the plug off RE: Instruments not illuminating - MCH - 21-01-2016 (20-01-2016, 04:37 PM)Paul_13 Wrote: I know.
