Bike bodies - adam b - 07-01-2016 So I'm doing a copy of Yanni's build on the 6 forum using R1 individual tbs but using standard gti6 management. I'm hoping to then run an AEM piggyback ecu to control ignition and injector duration. The aim is 20bhp, the budget 300. No rush, maybe by easter. So far bodies bought and half modified for 55. I have a spare standard inlet to shape. There is a second hand piggyback ecu in work and I'm hoping to steal the dyno there for a couple of hours. RE: Bike bodies - Piggy - 08-01-2016 I got a chopped inlet if you want it? Save chopping yours RE: Bike bodies - adam b - 08-01-2016 Thanks but I have a couple spare ![]() RE: Bike bodies - welshpug - 08-01-2016 please make a flange not silicone joiners ![]() FLANGE ![]() RE: Bike bodies - Niall - 08-01-2016 Oooh this should be pretty interesting! RE: Bike bodies - welshpug - 08-01-2016 ![]() http://forum.205gtidrivers.com/index.php?showtopic=113540 a very good read. worth bearing in mind this thread was quite some time ago and many had a somewhat blinkered view. RE: Bike bodies - cully - 08-01-2016 bike TB's or carbs? RE: Bike bodies - Stef205 - 08-01-2016 Done it years ago don't use r1 bodies they don't have the flow of the gxsr bodies ![]() ![]() RE: Bike bodies - adam b - 09-01-2016 I'm a bit torn tbh. Had it on our dyno today and it made decent power with the 270H cams. And having read some more the R1 tbs are only 42mm which might not flow enough. It dies off so much above 6500 though it needs more air so they might work ok. If I made 200 it'd be worth it. Especially if I have good driveability still RE: Bike bodies - roland rat - 09-01-2016 It will never work........ Just maybe not that well... ![]() RE: Bike bodies - RetroPug - 10-01-2016 If you do get it working I'd be very interested, but would probably try to get them to chipwizards to map the standard ecu. RE: Bike bodies - Rippthrough - 12-01-2016 42's shouldn't be too restrictive until 220 or so, even then not massively. RE: Bike bodies - adam b - 12-01-2016 Love you Phil... RE: Bike bodies - Rippthrough - 12-01-2016 Never enough to give me a reach around though. And you never pick up the day after. RE: Bike bodies - Matt - 14-03-2016 ^^ this ![]() RE: Bike bodies - RetroPug - 14-03-2016 I'd be really interested in a proven, reliable setup for the approximate budget listed in the OP so I'm eager to hear about any progress. |
