New family wagon advice. - bashbarnard - 04-01-2016

In the not to distant future the estate will be going. Broken up, sold, stripped who knows. But I'm after a new family wagon. Must be xud compatible, so a hdi is fine as I can xud it. Must be an older pug or Citroen as its just personal preference. So far the list of old ones I've got my eye on are 605, xm, xantia,405, bx,cx 406 anything I've missed?

RE: New family wagon advice. - mr_fish - 04-01-2016

405 Estate with a 2.1 in

Done.

Though a 605 would be interesting to see.

XM, Xantia, BX all come with the fluid suspension which is fine when it all works well.

My 2p.

RE: New family wagon advice. - bashbarnard - 04-01-2016

Funnily enough that's exactly what o was thinking mr fish. A 605 would be awesome, unlikely to find one. I'm also put off by fluid suspension. Not the up keep just the not liking it. Just wondered what others thought about this. 405 does have a huge load space.

RE: New family wagon advice. - Toms306 - 04-01-2016

I'd want a Citroen with the epic suspension tbh... Can't beat comfort in a family daily!

RE: New family wagon advice. - Eeyore - 04-01-2016

XM FTW!

RE: New family wagon advice. - thododd - 04-01-2016

Ebay no. 151931507871 ... 405 state

Thats gonna go cheap

Shame its spares/repair and the other side of the country from you. Not far from me though, no space at the inn unfortunately

RE: New family wagon advice. - darrenjlobb - 04-01-2016

I know of a fully repaired / fully functional XM, but might be a bit pricey....

RE: New family wagon advice. - Danny Wideboy - 04-01-2016

605? Good luck finding one.
I know of one for sale and it ain't Derv.
305 estate if you can find one.
I may know where one of those is, it may also be Derv.

XM FTMFW.
Would. If prices reflected the actual amount of people interested in the car.

RE: New family wagon advice. - bashbarnard - 04-01-2016

Already watching that 405 on ebay. Bit far. Might be worth a hike if its cheap though. Darren that's sounds epic but as you say probably out of price range.

I have an engine for this already hence why I've said must be xud compatible

Also the soonest ill be properly looking will be once in into my workshop space as ill aim for it to be done and road worthy by April as its when my insurance is due. Just keeps it all clean and tidy then.

RE: New family wagon advice. - ozonehostile - 04-01-2016

Yeah shame they're in Germany though. I really need someone idiotic enough in Bristol to let me buy that 405 on ebay. Come down for a weekend full of tools and a spare engine. Swap out and drive the 405 home! Lol
