1.8 xs probblems !!! - jjenn20 - 30-11-2015

1. When I was driving home from work my car was driving fine below 2000 revs but as soon as I put my foot down my car starts to judder like its starved for fuel and won't go anyware.
2. The gti6 inlet manifold iv bought off eBay is a Citroen one, is everything still the same.

1. When was it last serviced? Poor spark causing misfiring? either sparks or coil packs? Does the dash do anything?
2. If they look the same then they should be the same. I am unaware of any variants. Its the same engine.

I changed the oil, spark plugs n fuel filter about 6 months ago, I drove through a flooded road earlier tho.

so... did this happen only after driving through the flood.

Yeh but like an hour later

Later Citroën vts manifolds have different injectors for starters

That flood, could be your issue mate

RE: 1.8 xs probblems !!! - Dum-Dum - 01-12-2015

Is your manifold plugged in correctly. There is one of the plugs (I think the yellow one) that gives those symptoms if it's left unplugged.

RE: 1.8 xs probblems !!! - Toms306 - 01-12-2015

I'd check all the plugs for water as well...

How big was the flood? I assume it wasn't high enough to reach the air filter. I've seen this issue happen with a faulty (wet) crank sensor on a HDi but may not affect the petrols in the same way.

About a foot deep.
I drove to work this morning and it seems fine now.

That's brave, I hydrolocked my rallye in less than half that.

did it actually hydrolock though? remember that the gti6 has a silly intake where as the 1.8 is much higher up.
