Moving a 306 with no engine/driveshafts in - tigerstyle - 11-10-2015 I need to temporarily relocate my 306 project outside of the barn it's sat in, but the engine and gearbox and both driveshafts are out of the car. Is it ok to push around in this condition? I've read horror stories of hubs getting ovalled if the driveshaft isn't in, as well as wheel or suspension falling off/collapsing. But not sure if this is down to those particular cars intricacies in how the hubs/front of the car is built. Only got to push it 10 metres ![]() RE: Moving a 306 with no engine/driveshafts in - Jonny81191 - 11-10-2015 You'd probably get away with it, but I'd be inclined to put shafts in for peace of mind. RE: Moving a 306 with no engine/driveshafts in - bashbarnard - 11-10-2015 lol. you shouldnt but in reality why mine was off the road i must have pushed it a mile in total with no driveshafts in RE: Moving a 306 with no engine/driveshafts in - tigerstyle - 11-10-2015 (11-10-2015, 05:07 PM)Jonny81191 Wrote: You'd probably get away with it, but I'd be inclined to put shafts in for peace of mind. I should of added, what do you attach them too? Hub nut one side obviously, and the passenger side can be tied in ok, but the long flapy drivers side? Well it is only 10 metres, perhaps it can be supported for that! RE: Moving a 306 with no engine/driveshafts in - bashbarnard - 11-10-2015 just push it 10 meters youll be fine RE: Moving a 306 with no engine/driveshafts in - Niall - 11-10-2015 Just bang the shafts back in and push it. They sit on the subframe nicely. Just keep an eye on them so they don't get caught up on anything RE: Moving a 306 with no engine/driveshafts in - tigerstyle - 11-10-2015 awesome ![]() Be able to jet wash all the barn dust+crap off it outside. RE: Moving a 306 with no engine/driveshafts in - Frosty - 11-10-2015 I have a couple of ends off driveshafts i put in when the cars got no engine etc in |
