Engine removal - PAS hoses? - tigerstyle - 08-08-2015
I'm halfway through removing the engine from my estate, all that's left is the exhaust and PAS lines.
Where does the PAS have to be disconnected?
I've taken the low pressure line into the pump off, but the hardline that goes from the pump under the engine to the rack, is that best disconnected at the rack? So with that thinking there will be two connections and the rack to undo, and that's it?
Or how/where

Undo the pressure pipe Union. Then there Should be a p clip on the pump its self and a p clip on the gearbox bell housing between gearbox and sump. Then should hang down freely

As above, leave it connected to the rack, remove it from pump and brackets on gearbox then cover the end and tuck it under the car.

Awesome, there was a also another smaller return line plumbed into the res that follows the AC pipes along the top of the inner wing, does that need disconnecting further back anywhere?

nope.
if possible I unbolt the pump and leave the pipes connected.

If the a/c isn't working I would just remove it when you have the engine out no point having it if its not working like lol but up to you :-)

Thanks again all, I've got the front pipe disconnected now, two birds one stone and all as I'm adding my FMIC, so the underneath PAS pipe needs slightly moving/bracket removed anyway.
I was going to ask where the second pipe goes, but it must just follow the bulkhead and go down into the rack, so not interfering with the engine out at all. Shame both pipes couldn't run that way...
AC is working so working around that currently. But might have to get it pumped out then re-charged later for ease.
