wipers - pug306driver - 02-07-2015 Please could some one tell me about the wipers. Front windscreen wipers, the wiper unit, are the "posts" that the wiper mechanism arms pivot on, nutted on , welded on or riveted onto the wiper mechanism "frame", as there seems to be quite a lot of "play" in the mechanical system. The plastic "rod bearings" in the rods seem all ok. I want to remove the complete wiper system to lube the "pivots/posts" and attend to a "dead spot" in the wiper movement possibly due to the rotating contact inside the motor/drive gear mechanism, inside the motor, when the screen is "drying" and on single wipe mode ( more like 3 wipes then auto park ) . With wipers on normally, they work fine apart from judder/squeeeeek when the screen is drying, and the single wipe mode works fine with a damp screen. ( mechanism not slowed down enough to cause a dead spot. double clicking of relay also heard at or about the dead spot time ) New blades 6 months ago. not bosch, but iguana brand from memory, white and green box. Also is it possible to modify the w/screen washer mode so that the washer pump dampens the screen before the wipers come on and wipe a dry screen for a second or 2? |
