Black or moonstone... 50/50 undecided! Help! - Piggy - 23-06-2015 Need some help deciding... I have the paint, and had full intention to paint it moonstone... But now I have done first fitting... I KINDA like the black too. The wing mirrors will lose the flags soon btw. ![]() ![]() [attachment=23979] RE: Black or moonstone... 50/50 undecided! Help! - bashbarnard - 23-06-2015 Leave as is. Adding more paint adds more weight. Imo gone are your cars days of looking show like. Its now full on Racecar or nothing imo RE: Black or moonstone... 50/50 undecided! Help! - 1616six - 23-06-2015 If you're rattle canning it, it'll look shite painted. RE: Black or moonstone... 50/50 undecided! Help! - Mattcheese31 - 23-06-2015 If you think you can get a good finish I'd go Mansbone, if you're not sure then leave it I reckon ![]() RE: Black or moonstone... 50/50 undecided! Help! - kentiiboii - 23-06-2015 Moonstone it... Just becuase mines staying black! :-) RE: Black or moonstone... 50/50 undecided! My best mate who is lucky enough to paint the odd lambo or ferrari said its freraking near on impossible to get a good finish with fiberglass. Thats with top end panels, the very best paint and the very best guns! Which is why I am debating giving this some simple coats of the same black I have used for the trims/mirrors etc and maybe get a FG spoiler and do that too. RE: Black or moonstone... 50/50 undecided! Help! - darrenjlobb - 23-06-2015 Hm ill be honest and say I dont think the black really works that well with the moonstone / looks a bit silly (if I can talk coming from man with green car and yellow wheels!!) however, id imagine painting a flexy bonnet could be fun, so not sure what to suggest really...wrap it? Im RUBBISH with wrap...just ask sean when we tried to wrap the metal one! but what colour wrap? just black, "carbon"... my other thought, if I ever came to breaking it for parts...if its stays black, easy to shift...if I paint moonstone, no one will want it ![]() see...my OTHER thought here...I am toying with strip down and repaint another colour this winter depending on if she stays or not..... in which case, I really cant be arsed to paint it! RE: Black or moonstone... 50/50 undecided! Help! - 1616six - 23-06-2015 Wrapping is easy! I'd do it for you if you were nearer. Lots of heat, lots of patience. Even I can do it without a single bubble. RE: Black or moonstone... 50/50 undecided! Help! - Piggy - 23-06-2015 (23-06-2015, 08:38 PM)JJ0063 Wrote: Wrapping is easy! RE: Black or moonstone... 50/50 undecided! Help! - Kezzieboy - 23-06-2015 Moonstone would be better, given its FG I'd probs just spray it with Montana cans though, they give a good finish on walls so they can probably manage fibreglass ![]() RE: Black or moonstone... 50/50 undecided! Help! - impotentials - 23-06-2015 My two cents. Either moonstone paint or a stainless steel wrap. They do all sorts of crazy wraps nowadays. Easy enough to use. Not a fan of the black. RE: Black or moonstone... 50/50 undecided! Help! - Niall - 23-06-2015 Wrapping a bonnet is a piece of piss PROVIDING you are using good vinyl. Also, you want to do it in the same vinyl as Impotentials bonnet. Its amazing! lol RE: Black or moonstone... 50/50 undecided! Help! - kentiiboii - 23-06-2015 I'd do it carbon or a very colour RE: Black or moonstone... 50/50 undecided! Help! - adam b - 23-06-2015 I can wrap it for you in about an hour. Don't make the roof black. Looks cool but I couldn't touch the inside of mine on Friday - proper hot in that car, it's going white RE: Black or moonstone... 50/50 undecided! RE: Black or moonstone... 50/50 undecided! Help! - Lwilliams - 24-06-2015 We had our black temporary really not rally a fan of just a black bonnet reminds me of boy racers ![]() Paint finish on our kevlar one, is not good at all really but standing a couple of feet away can't say I really notice the bad finish. Plus I prefer it color coded such a big panel of the car. RE: Black or moonstone... 50/50 undecided! Help! - 1616six - 24-06-2015 Might be a wild/expensive thought but could the new graphic design decal man on here 'print' moonstone vinyl? RE: Black or moonstone... 50/50 undecided!
