rear disk slider bolts - tigerstyle - 15-06-2015 I'm struggling to google a good picture of the rear caliper after it's removed. Haven't got my 306 in front of me here to look at, I know the carrier unbolts with 2* 17MMs to get that off, but what size are the slider bolts to get the caliper off? As in this pic, http://i.imgur.com/aSXQs8X.jpg the caliper must be mounted on slider bolts to the trailing arm, but I can't find a picture of the slider/bolt pin to reference. I might have to change my rear caliper soon so want to get a bit of research done first ![]() Just like this? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PEUGEOT-306-CABRIOLET-1-8-BRAKE-CALIPER-CARRIER-SLIDER-BOLTS-PAIR-GEN070-/191092115281?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&fits=Car+Make%3APeugeot&hash=item2c7dfa4751 There are no bushes to replace, they are integral to the caliper right? RE: rear disk slider bolts - Niall - 15-06-2015 Slider bolts are 19mm iirc RE: rear disk slider bolts - Poodle - 16-06-2015 That's just the bolts, sliders are quite large on the rear: http://r.ebay.com/ETwVtw The slider bolts double up as the caliper mounting on these, thought they were 19s, as Niall says, but can't remember exactly. RE: rear disk slider bolts - tigerstyle - 16-06-2015 Is that 2 of the sliders required per side? Top and bottom presumably. My 306 has just gone over 160,000 Miles, so might swap out for some fresh ones and regrease with fresh rubber grease. The bolts can be reused then, no need to replace? RE: rear disk slider bolts - C2K - 16-06-2015 Won't need anything more than a clean. One of my originals was still on at 284k. The other was replaced due to a snapped nipple. RE: rear disk slider bolts - Poodle - 16-06-2015 Yeah that's right. They tend to split the boots and corrode pretty badly, once the clean surface has gone they only get worse. Bigg red do a full rebuild kit that has served me well on a few calipers. RE: rear disk slider bolts - tigerstyle - 16-06-2015 Cheers all! RE: rear disk slider bolts - Stef205 - 16-06-2015 youll find there fine thread too if you do end up replacing them. m12x1.5 iirc |
