Top rubber engine mount - Pearcey1995 - 26-05-2015

Maybe a silly question but how hard is the top rubber engine mount to change? Mines snapped and looks like I'll be changing it very soon..

Also could I drive my car in the meanwhile till its fitted? Cheers!

Well, here's the thing....the mount itself isn't that difficult to change, but there's a good chance that when you take the mount out that you'll find the cradle it sits in is cracked/corroded. I had mine changed recently and the cradle had almost completely corroded away, but some extensive welding later it was all sorted.

As for driving your car with it as it is....it seems my mount has been screwed since I bought the car just over a year ago, so don't worry about it too much, but get it changed as soon as you can. Wink

Same with mine. Rotted to crap. Snapped. Weld it and beef it up. All good to drive, you may just get a slight tapping noise when pulling off.
