New engine for rebuild - Ben - 21-04-2012

I'm looking at getting another engine to rebuild with hdi rods for when I go for a bigger turbo.
I wanted to look for a low mileage one but there are very few about.
I've found an xantia d8b engine for a good price but its done 128k.
Does mileage matter when I'm rebuilding it anyway? Or could there be bad wear in bores/pistons which I couldn't do much about?

Cheers, Ben

More depends on how its been treated as any car. Have seen f*cked bores on a low miler and fine bores on engines with 200k+. Take a gamble chances are itll be fine on 128k xantias arnt thrashed about as much as 306s either,

Thanks for the reply Dave, I will try and get it as it is too good a deal to miss!

As said, I'd rather have an engine on 150k with decent service history then a 50k engine with none.
