Headlight Issue-B*stard Electrics at it again... - Pug0BZ3011 - 28-01-2015

Headlights have decided to stop working, think ive narrowed it down to the switch.. So.indicators and horn work but side lights, dipped and full beam arnt working, have run a flying wire on.the back of the multiplug and can.get things workin...sort of. Just wondering is this going to.be.the switch or something.else?

Thanks, Adam Smile

Probably broken wiring from being too low.

Replaced the switch and no joy..... tracked the wiring and there is a connector that is designed to short 2 wires together in the loom, wacked it off cleaned it and resealed it and works fine now. Apparently they are called Mick Jagger Clips, anyone heard of these before? Smile

When you look at the headlight swich there are 2 connectors that go into the back of it. The one on the left hand side and two larger wires comming out of it, these have a blue icd on them to connect the circut, they had become corroded and needed cleaned.

Basically clips over 2 wires then you cruse the probe in, this cuts the insulation and joins the wires.

oh, you have scotchblocks on your wiring, I'd look into why the hell they're there as they shouldn't be!

Going by the 'if its not broken dont try to fix it' plus MOT is in 2 weeks so have other things to get done. Plus I'm sure a lot of people are farmilar with 'felt spec' on here, all i can say it isnt MOT friendly!

This - whenever I see these anywhere near a car you know the electrics are going to be well and truly bodged...

Alarm installers are the worse culprits, but by no means the only ones.
