timing out smokey - pugtk - 03-01-2015 Hi all im just after replacing all gaskets on my xud engine However its very smoky on idle (white smoke) and wont rev cleanly(rattles somewhat) cam, pump and flywheel bolts all lined up ive used the bosch pump bracket with a bosch pump. all items were removed from a running engine which I drove. If the timing of the pump were out on the pump bracket (rotating it on its braket to advance/retard timing) Would it cause the same issues? RE: timing out smokey - Seb_Ryan - 03-01-2015 Sounds like it to me, slacken the nuts and rotate it towards the back of the car, if that doesnt help the pump maybe be 180° out RE: timing out smokey - pugtk - 03-01-2015 The pulley went back on the woodruff key I didnt take the pump part yet ![]() How could it be out by 180? RE: timing out smokey - Piggy - 03-01-2015 You dont want to advance it anymore!!! Sounds too advanced to me. Slacken the 4 13mm nuts holding the pump and bring the pump toward the FRONT of the car till white smoke goes! RE: timing out smokey - pugtk - 04-01-2015 Will play with this in the morning. |
