Front brake or brakes making ch - ch - ch - ch - ch sound - Welshy_Pete - 16-04-2012 On my other car not a peugeot the Front brake or brakes making ch - ch - ch - ch - ch sound The proton wira front brake or brakes making ch - ch - ch - ch - ch sound. Only does this when hard braking. When normal braking or driving along there nothing. if the noise is a *ch - ch - ch - ch - ch - ch - ch * kind of sound...you probably have a bent backing plate or something stuck behind. The pads are fine but I rough them up on the concreate. The calipers push in fine on both sides also slide fine. The discs had scratch lines on the passanger side you could feel with your nails. Then on the driver side it was starting to go there as well. There nothing catching anywere at all checked both sides. Ive put other discs on with other pads but still that noise. Ive gone from 14inch to 17inch alloy wheels. But its been fine for 40,000 to 50,000miles so far. But only recently this scratching on the discs has started on both sides. Also that noise as well has started to. But I know what you mean about having smaller wheels.
