Sun strip - cool or no cool? - Orta - 11-11-2014 I haven't had a sun strip on a car since 2003 but seeing that picture of bens White Rallye made me think... Are they cool and should I get one for the Rallye? I'm not talking chavy all the way down can't see where I'm going I'm on about a totally plain small one that just goes across the very top in black ? RE: Sun strip - cool or no cool? - hbomb1905 - 11-11-2014 Haha I ordered one of these off ebay a couple of days ago! They are useful, I had one on my Celica, i'm gonna stick it on and if it looks crap i'll take it off, twas only a couple of quid RE: Sun strip - cool or no cool? - Grant - 11-11-2014 Not cool IMO. Brings back memories of the Max Power era RE: Sun strip - cool or no cool? - Niall - 11-11-2014 Uncool and a 306 with one will fail an mot if your tester is doing a proper job and you run the risk of getting shouted at by the boys in blue RE: Sun strip - cool or no cool? - Piggy - 11-11-2014 Cool.... On a full blown 306 rally car. SO UNCOOL on a standard 306! RE: Sun strip - cool or no cool? - Orta - 11-11-2014 (11-11-2014, 09:53 PM)Grant Wrote: Not cool IMO. Memories? You mean big bodykits and lexus lights on 1 litre corsas isn't cool anymore? RE: Sun strip - cool or no cool? - hbomb1905 - 11-11-2014 Nice and subtle RE: Sun strip - cool or no cool? - eskimogod - 11-11-2014 Useful if you think it's clever to strip your car so much you have no sunvisors... but getting a little dated now imo RE: Sun strip - cool or no cool? - Orta - 11-11-2014 (11-11-2014, 10:13 PM)INXS Wrote: Nice and subtle That's exactly what I was thinking of. Mind sharing the link of the one you ordered for yours mate? Not 2 copy u 2 much! Might not order the. Yet... Wait to see results of the poll! It isn't?! *runs to remove items from car* RE: Sun strip - cool or no cool? - Pete - 11-11-2014 Bollocks to what other people think if you want one get one. Personally I like them, had an internal one on the black 6 keep meaning to get another on the van as it has a huuuuge windscreen. They serve a purpose, I get so fed up of being blinded by low sun this time of year, always finds it's way around the visors! Been tempted by one myself tbh, not sure why they didn't factory fit one with the rear tints! RE: Sun strip - cool or no cool? - WiNgNuTz - 12-11-2014 I've got one on the estate, on the inside of the window so the rain sensor can still work. I like it, haterz can do one. RE: Sun strip - cool or no cool? - Jonny81191 - 12-11-2014 Get a decent internal graded one like a lot of standard cars run. RE: Sun strip - cool or no cool? - Eeyore - 12-11-2014 a decent internal one is alright. It looks good on a track car but silly on a road car. RE: Sun strip - cool or no cool? - Matt-Rallye - 12-11-2014 A decent sized one looks good and is useful too big and it looks awful! RE: Sun strip - cool or no cool? - r3k1355 - 12-11-2014 I had a sun STROIPE on my last 306, mainly because it came with the windscreen. Was actually quite useful at times because it came that bit lower than the sun visor. Looked shit tho. RE: Sun strip - cool or no cool? - Dum-Dum - 12-11-2014 I think they are cool if they are functional. Having a sunstrip to try and look cool is for wankers. I have one on the rallye (think its 7 or 8") because the sun always comes round the visors. I used to run a 10" or 12" strip on my black HDi because the buckets were so low in it. The only time they are a pain in the arse is if you pull up first at the stop line at a set of traffic lights and realise you can't see the lights [attachment=20060] [attachment=20061] RE: Sun strip - cool or no cool? - Orta - 12-11-2014 The fraternity of black Rallye owners seem to be in favour of the sun strip.... It's getting tempting RE: Sun strip - cool or no cool? - Dum-Dum - 12-11-2014 (12-11-2014, 11:59 AM)Orta Wrote: The fraternity of black Rallye owners seem to be in favour of the sun strip.... It's getting tempting That goes without saying RE: Sun strip - cool or no cool? - RetroPug - 12-11-2014 Very cool: Very uncool: You will probably be slightly cool if it is a plain, nice one, not as uncool as the nova but also not as super cool as the 205 T16. Sun strip - cool or no cool? - Shiny - 13-11-2014 I've been thinking about a subtle internal one, but I have no sun visors so it's more of a necessity for me! Keep it simple black and I think they look good. RE: Sun strip - cool or no cool? - Ruan - 13-11-2014 With fixed seats and harnesses and a cage = cool Stock seats, TSW Stealths, bangin' subz = uncool. RE: Sun strip - cool or no cool? - Orta - 14-11-2014 Cool is winning so far chaps. Was thinking of an internal one of 20% tinting film about 6"-7" high ? RE: Sun strip - cool or no cool? - Dum-Dum - 14-11-2014 IMO the tint ones are shit. RE: Sun strip - cool or no cool? - JamesPT - 15-11-2014 Voted Uncool, but really its just than I don't like the non-blended ones. I nice Blended SunStrip isn't bad. RE: Sun strip - cool or no cool? - Dum-Dum - 15-11-2014 He means a shade band or a tint strip not a sunstrip. |
