HDI to XUD conversion - my-first-306 - 11-11-2014 Hi all got a ph3 estate, the hdi lump has done 175k, overdue a service/cambelt and now the clutch is slipping. I have been offered a cheap xud running a bosch, new cambelt, new clutch and bolted to a hdi gearbox, how easy will this be to fit? cheers all RE: HDI to XUD conversion - 1616six - 11-11-2014 I did it, easy swap. If you look far enough back through my threads you'll see my project thread which might have details. RE: HDI to XUD conversion - bashbarnard - 11-11-2014 Easy swap. Specially if you have the xud loom. RE: HDI to XUD conversion - Poodle - 12-11-2014 The most difficult bit is probably getting the dvla to change the v5 to the correct details lol. RE: HDI to XUD conversion - Jimbo - 12-11-2014 Ive also done it, look through my old project threads Essentialy though, swapped engine and loom Exhaust downpipe, radiator, clutch cable, use some ph2 dash clocks, RE: HDI to XUD conversion - Paul_13 - 12-11-2014 I'm thinking of doing this myself. Regards to fuel lines, I know you have to swap the pump to the dturbo pickup. Do the fuel lines fit the same? Why do you suggest phase 2 clocks? I was thinking of getting the level sender working. One last thing... Central Locking, will this be affected? RE: HDI to XUD conversion - 1616six - 12-11-2014 Swap the in tank to dt pickup, fuel lines will fit fine. Ph2 clocks are the only ones that straight away plug & play, you can leave ph3 in but your revs won't work. Locking is fine. You just plug the DT loom in on the passenger inner wing and all is well. RE: HDI to XUD conversion - Paul_13 - 12-11-2014 Nice on. Just had a read through jimbos thread and read it about the clocks. More straight forward than I thought RE: HDI to XUD conversion - Jimbo - 12-11-2014 I wil admit i had to ask jj0063 a few questions before i did mine, but its very straightforward and easy tbh |
