Timing tool pin set - mossy1985 - 04-11-2014

I'm looking to do a Cambelt/water pump change on my 6 and was wondering if anyone could provide me with either a link to a set of timing pins I will need or, provide me with maybe drill bit sizes? Ie cams need 6mm bit to lock in for eg

Thanks all

Dave

RE: Timing tool pin set - cully - 04-11-2014

i made my pins from
2x 6mm shouldered bolts with the threads cut off
1x 9mm ish pin punch filed/sanded down to the correct size using a drill to spin it to keep it round
camshaft locking tool made out of 20mm ply
now i can lock the centre bolts to there correct torque without stressing the locking pins Wink

Nicely done there cully very impressive, how did you make your camshaft locking block?

scribed two arks the same diameter and distance apart as the cam pulleys with a compas, cut it out with a jigsaw drilled the hole, then cut the section out in the centre
