Some help with spraying - Bananalad - 12-04-2012 Im in the process of spraying my car and im doing the back bumper.. Filled and sanded and all that but i noticed i missed some filling.. Can i put some isopon on it and give it another coat of primer or do i need to sand the primer off the area that needs filled then prime again? Thanks Re: Some help with spraying - Dan! - 12-04-2012 Just sand the primer with something like 80 grit before applying the filler. Gives it something to grip onto rather than the comparatively smooth primer. Re: Some help with spraying - Bananalad - 12-04-2012 Thanks dan ![]() Re: Some help with spraying - Dan! - 12-04-2012 Not used textured paint before, but if you want to get a similar effect to standard black textured bumpers/bump strips then iv heard using 'stone effect' paint (from B&Q) and then a coat of matt black over the top looks pretty good! ![]() Re: Some help with spraying - Grant - 12-04-2012 Sand the primer like Dan! says to give it a key for the filler to bond to. I would personally not use 80 grit, as it is liable to leave deep scores in areas, creating more filling. Im not saying 80 is wrong to use, but I've always used 120/240 (depending on surface) to provide a key and had no problems. Get a good few coats of primer on and let them dry before flatting them back, then crack on as normal.... Re: Some help with spraying - Bananalad - 14-04-2012 Thanks fellas getting on nicely i think..
