206 HDi - Piggy - 23-09-2014

On the hunt for a 5dr 206 2.0 Hdi if anyone knows of any around going cheap cheap cheap Smile

RE: 206 HDi - darrenjlobb - 23-09-2014

To run on road or for parts ? I've got a complete 1.4 hdi one with front end damage

RE: 206 HDi - Piggy - 23-09-2014

Run on road buddy...needs to 2.0 too as wana tow stuff!!!

Thanks though Smile

RE: 206 HDi - Toms306 - 23-09-2014

Just fyi, if you're getting it for cheap tax, they aren't all that cheap. The 52 plate I had was £130 a year...

Infact, I'm not sure any 2.0 HDi's are in the £30 bracket? I did a lot of searching that bracket a couple of months ago, under £1500 the only diesels are stuff like...

1.4 HDi 206/307/C3
1.4 TDCi Fiesta/Fusion
1.4TDi Polo
1.5 DCi Megane/Clio

RE: 206 HDi - Piggy - 23-09-2014

They do a 2.0hdi eco, £30 a year Tongue

But £130...or about £15 a month...is fine. Road tax is road tax!!! Im not obsessed over saving a few quid a month for the sake of choosing the car i want!! Just happy to pay monthly now rather than be raped once a year

RE: 206 HDi - mr_fish - 23-09-2014

I have seen the 2.0HDi 206 with £30 per year tax...pretty rare though

RE: 206 HDi - Anton - 23-09-2014

They come with the extra rare gearbox...

Must be rare as I cant say I've seen one for sale in the the few months I was looking! lol

You know it still costs the same whether its once a year or 12 times a year though right.... Tongue

RE: 206 HDi - Piggy - 23-09-2014

Costs more spread over actually. Yeah but when you earn very little, 2 cars at £230 a piece is a big lump to find. But £15 a month each is much easier to budget for. Why do you think EVERY other company does direct debit monthty...water, gas, electric, phone, insurances etc etc etc

RE: 206 HDi - Toms306 - 23-09-2014

They do direct debit so they can make you pay a surcharge for it...

I just don't understand why people don't stick, for your example, £15 a month in a tin over the year, no surcharge and you have the right amount at the end of the year so don't have to 'find' it. Its what I did for car insurance when I was earning which saved me a hell of a lot by being able to pay it by the year rather than monthly. I do appreciate I didn't have extra bills etc then, but it still applies...

RE: 206 HDi - Piggy - 23-09-2014

How did you pay for your first year insurance though!?

There are other options, interest free Ccards for instance.

Most companies give a discount for paying monthly by DB, not car tax mind...but its no more than the extra you pay if you buy 6month tax, and for some who tax a car then sell it with tax, this scheme may actually save them a few bob by paying month by month

RE: 206 HDi - Toms306 - 23-09-2014

I already had the first year saved from many years of bday and Xmas money...I never bought anything with it, just saved it for eventually getting a car and moving out....yes I was boring even back then. lol

Interest free credit card would be fine, I agree.

And you're right, its cheaper monthly than the current 6 monthly (5% instead of 10%), so will save the 6 monthers money, but its still more than yearly...and I hate wasting money on something without a return lol.

RE: 206 HDi - cully - 23-09-2014

our 51plate 206 2ltr hdi is £145 same as the 2002plate 306 hdi
i do like the wifes 206 as it drives better than the 306 estate but unfortunatly she wont let me get the 206 remaped.
if i could find another for good money i would buy one too

Seems cheap?

Also seems cheap for what it is, best colour, best trim level and a decent age.

RE: 206 HDi - Piggy - 24-09-2014

First one is a mess. Have looked into it.

Second one needs a clutch and a little over budget. Thanks though matt Smile

RE: 206 HDi - Matt-Rallye - 24-09-2014

Can always buy my 306 hdi Wink shes a beast though!

RE: 206 HDi - Toms306 - 24-09-2014

Whats your budget? Its unlikely you'll get a decent one much under a grand imo.

Mine on a 52 plate with 88k in GLX spec sold for £1495 just fyi.

RE: 206 HDi - Piggy - 24-09-2014

There are quite a few under your Tom price bands bud.

Seen two so far at £700 were pretty spot on...but both colours the mrs didnt want Angry

RE: 206 HDi - 1616six - 24-09-2014

What happened with the 206 you bought in the end Piggy?

Doh Colours aren't relevant if the car's good!! Price probably depends on how far you're willing to travel then. I only really search around 50 mile radius from here but very rarely see one under a grand.

RE: 206 HDi - Piggy - 24-09-2014

Theres about 200-300 under a grand mate countrywide....depends on how picky you are over doors, colour, engine and spec.

Wife says too slow! Lol!

And cant be bothered to upspec the brakes etc...may aswell just buy one done!

Theres only 3 2.0 HDi's within 50 miles of here on ebay atm. Only one less than a grand, but still has 3 days to run on the auction, and its a pov spec LX...

My sister was after one but shes gone off the idea now for some reason.

206 HDi - Sambarker - 24-09-2014

I have a W plate 206 Hdi DTurbo on nimrods with good tyres. But it's a 3door

Loads of mot, needs some small jobs sorting out, wanting £400 for it

RE: 206 HDi - Piggy - 24-09-2014

Dang. Needs to be 5dr bud. Good price though Undecided

RE: 206 HDi - Toms306 - 24-09-2014

You also don't want one on a W plate...I know you say you're not fussed by tax but its £230 the year pre-Y reg....

RE: 206 HDi - Piggy - 24-09-2014

I would happily take on thats £230 tax if its just right for us.
3 reasons.
1) its what we pay now anyway
2) I wont let tax sway my decision on having the right car
3) to piss you off!!

RE: 206 HDi - Norledge - 25-09-2014

Got my Missus a 2002 2.0HDi for £405 on a random eBay bid. Proper top D Turbo spec.

Bought with 4 months tax but no MOT due to an ABS fault... £1.90 later for an ABS ring and it's a cracking car!

RE: 206 HDi - Piggy - 25-09-2014

^^^aye theres bargains to be had...

Fancy selling it? Haha

RE: 206 HDi - Toms306 - 25-09-2014

Mine needed an ABS ring for MOT as well, how do they even break them!? Confused

I paid more than that for it though with no T&T as a non-runner. Thought that was a bargain but obviously not. lol
