Anyone work out what might be wrong here?

All pieces push in fully and flush but touching a button or putting in an in car charger causes this Sad. Everything's screwed in as it's meant to be.

Ejecto dasho, have you tried loosening the screws off, give it a wiggle and do it all back up?

RE: Centre console dash bottom piece grrrrr - Toms306 - 31-08-2014

Lol. The metal clips on the back are moveable, I bet yours have moved so the trims touching the buttons...

lmao

Never seen that before...the dash in my DT was the exact opposite though, took nothing short of a pry bar to remove the bottom section! I don't think Tom is far off the mark though, have you checked the metal clips?

I was wondering if moving the clock section about might help.

I've only checked that they're all intact. In what way are they supposed to move?

I've thought about it but it's the hassle when I want to take it off again.

May sound daft have u put the top edge first then a firm push on the bottom till the clips click in.

Yeah I've tried all kindsa methods. From middle out. Right clips to left. Bottom to top. Top to bottom. Sad

RE: Centre console dash bottom piece grrrrr - Adam-m-h - 01-09-2014

I took mine out for painting and found the metals clips had slid forward slightly and hazard light wasn't sat right and had really push it in (sorry it's not much help Sad )

RE: Centre console dash bottom piece grrrrr - Toms306 - 01-09-2014

Hmm, your metal clips do look in the right place in that pic. Not sure what to suggest... Well, maybe just don't use the buttons, can't remember last time I used the demister lol!

Hmm I may have to play about see what I can get to work! I'll see if I can borrow a piece from a friend see if it's the plastic piece or the dash holes...

Just strip the console down and refit it.
Its not that much work and youll find the problem.
