Damn, beat me to it! lol

RE: Pikey mods - bashbarnard - 30-08-2014

So the question now is. Dum dum have you ever done something similar?

RE: Pikey mods - Piggy - 30-08-2014

Easier to ask what Dumdum hasnt done!

RE: Pikey mods - Niall - 30-08-2014

Just off the top of my head what dum dum has done:

Used a kitchen sieve as a air filter
cable tied a grill on
attempted to make his own set of ITBs using some silicone hoses
fitted an engine where the turbo hits the steering UJ and locks the steering on boost

And plenty more lol

RE: Pikey mods - lolsteve - 30-08-2014

A hahaha haven't heard of the bodies or steering rack before

And much much more Big Grin

Anyway in answer to the OPs question hammerite will be fine on wheels, I'd use spray but brush on will give a good enough finish if your not looking for show car quality. I wouldn't consider it pikey though as it is a brilliant paint for wheels (and brakes and engines and pretty much anything else.

RE: Pikey mods - Piggy - 30-08-2014

And engine covers Wink

RE: Pikey mods - bashbarnard - 30-08-2014

Im not after a show finish just a reasonable finish. Might do the back of a wheel and see how it looks. Just on case

RE: Pikey mods - Paul_13 - 30-08-2014

i've used a garden seive for an air filter

RE: Pikey mods - Grant - 30-08-2014

lmao

You sir, are a brave man...

RE: Pikey mods - lolsteve - 30-08-2014

you have a proper air filter lying right there! whyyy

RE: Pikey mods - Grant - 30-08-2014

Clearly a garden sieve is more free-flowing that an air-filer. You would sieve your garden with an air filer now would you?!?!? lol

Oi don't you go knocking those I may have the exact same thing at the minute lol

RE: Pikey mods - Paul_13 - 31-08-2014

That air filter in the pic was clogged and f*cked.
Made a world of difference with the wire.
I sacked off all of that later on and ran defiltered

RE: Pikey mods - Danny2009 - 31-08-2014

Jenks has done this with a set of wheels and I'm sure cully has?

RE: Pikey mods - 1616six - 31-08-2014

my gold clones are rattle can Hammerit smooth gold il have you know! Wink

RE: Pikey mods - bashbarnard - 31-08-2014

Nice. Ill take a look. Still in two minds about painting them with a brush though. Even.if it is smooth

RE: Pikey mods - Eeyore - 31-08-2014

Do it with spray cans not a brush... itll be a nightmare and the spray hammerite isnt too expensive and gives a decent finish!

RE: Pikey mods - Slam Wagon - 31-08-2014

Had to use a bit of wire to hold my exhaust up when it snapped on the motorway, got some funny looks driving down to the next junction(my turn off anyway and only 1/2 mile) with sparks flying out the back. As soon as it went i knew what it was so just carried on the har shoulder at 60. Strapped it up to the beam and removed the back box, only left it like that for a few days.

I spent an hour cleaning the clones in the end then painted with a brush the inner bit as it was beyond help. They have cone up fairly ok to be fair.

I think.the black on the inside suits it. Its far from a show car but I I like to keep her tidy.
