door and parcel shelf speakers - Dramsay1984 - 27-08-2014

I woukd like to upgrade my speakers in my car and would like to know if there are any specs i need to keep to. For example how deep can the speakers be etc and any recommendations Smile thanks

They're all 16.5cm (6.5") diameter. Can't remember depth, but the shelf speakers are really thin, not sure if there are any direct replacements for those. For the doors, most will fit with a small amount of hidden doorcard trimming.

I once fitted some Alpine Type S components up front, had to trim some of the door card for the magnet to fit but I don't think you could get any deeper in the doors without cutting metal! To be honest the standard speakers aren't too bad I find if you've got a good head unit. A small sub would make a big difference.

I agree^
I fitted components without an amp and they sounded worse if anything, so reverted back to standard.

One huge difference i found was replacing my ph3 stealth shelf for a phase 1 shelf. They have tweeters as well and sound way better
