Remove helper srping or new top mounts? - Seid' - 05-04-2012

Yes, is that question, I have 1 finger of wheel gap and the coils on minimum level.

I wanna get more down, what you recommend?

Shorter, stiffer main spring.

What you mean? Other spring but more "compressed"?

Because Sent by Tapatalk is too mainstream!

Shorter free (uncompressed) length, higher spring rate.

At least that's what I assume!

As kezzi says mate, you need a shorter, stiffer spring to go lower, removing the helpers would run the risk of the spring unseating when the shock extends!

Yeah, but that lower spring is very expensive, more and less the cost of the coils :/

Depends, you can raise the lower spring collar to the top of where the helper spring sits, then remove the helper spring, will have the same effect.

As far as I understand it won't though, the helper spring compresses a good 40mm and doing that will result in the car sitting higher that standard if I'm not mistaken!

Yep, 'cause the spring rate is now a lot higher.
