severe braking vibration - Niall - 08-08-2014 Evening all Got my brembos fitted today and have found that under braking, i get a really violent judder and modulation through the pedal. I would imagine this is a warped disc and is backed up by the fact that the drivers disc gets slightly harder to turn at one point but just wanted to confirm this before i go and get them skimmed? RE: severe braking vibration - Jimbo - 08-08-2014 As long as there seated on the hub properly id imagine there warped as you say RE: severe braking vibration - welshpug - 08-08-2014 check the bells seat properly, alloy could be corroded on the inside face where its been bolted to the steel hub flange which can cause galvanic corrosion. RE: severe braking vibration - adam b - 21-08-2014 Very unlikely to be warped. Either it's not sitting flat on the hub face or there is pad deposition. What pads are they? Check the disc run out before skimming, but tbh it's very very rare to warp a disc RE: severe braking vibration - ConorTRG - 21-08-2014 (21-08-2014, 11:40 PM)adam b Wrote: Very unlikely to be warped. RE: severe braking vibration - Paul_13 - 22-08-2014 I've warped plenty of discs. Definitely not rare. I can see where you're coming from RE: severe braking vibration - Niall - 22-08-2014 Just to put all your minds at rest, it was a warped disc. Took them to the local machine shop and he skimmed them for me. Spot on now other than a tiny little vibration under the initial push of the pedal but nothing major ![]() RE: severe braking vibration - THE_Liam - 22-08-2014 Out of interest, how much was that bud? I've always just replaced them but I've just found out how much 4 discs will cost for the Merc... RE: severe braking vibration - Niall - 22-08-2014 £50 but this bloke was particularly expensive. Another place was supposed to be doing them for me for less but when I got there, he said he didn't have the kit because it was bells and rotors. RE: severe braking vibration - THE_Liam - 22-08-2014 Might as buy new! Cheers mate x RE: severe braking vibration - Niall - 22-08-2014 Yeah exactly. New rotors for me is about £200 and there is plenty of life in these ones so was worth me having them done. RE: severe braking vibration - THE_Liam - 22-08-2014 Oh yeah they'll be far dearer than the 190's discs. And how did you know they were warped and it wasn't pad deposition as it normally is? ![]() |
