Anyone shed some light to why this happens? Once going its ok but it can take upto half hour to fire up

I assume you've made sure all the injectors have fuel at them before starting up, nothing silly like a damaged leak-off pipe causing the fuel to drain back to the tank??

Changed the glow plugs, glow plug relay and made sure they get 12V when you put the key in ignition position???

Undo the FMIC pipe and squirt a bit of easy start into the intake while cranking.

If it fires instantly, that's almost certainly a glow plug issue

Fuels fine ye all firing out top of injectors and pipes are all new granage stays firm and new filter. Glowplug light comes on but I havnt actually checked good idea

Hopefully the end hasn't fallen off your plugs or something.

Sprayed some wd40 but nothing. Do get a scraping noise not sure if its starter struggling or valves :/

RE: Xud not starting - bashbarnard - 10-07-2014

Wd40 probably wont make it fire. Not really flammable. I usually use brake cleaner to check but only a small amount to much and she will pink

All I have atm starters gone tho not engaging flywheel. So gona change that now what's chances that's the problem to start with :/? Wishful thinking

Glowplugs are getting power all tho also

Sounds poorly...

Shouldnt take that long even with no glowies!!

RE: Xud not starting - pugmanxud - 11-07-2014

I would say glow plugs. Had this with mine even though i was on veg. Even though there getting power the likely hood is there fecked. Took mine out and 3 out of 4 were not working. No wonder it would not start at 5 degrees on svo
