High idle problem! - PugRory - 29-05-2014 Little problem that's driving me mad. 90% of the time when I start the car it will always sit at 1500rpm or there abouts when im not even touching the accelerator. Driving down the road sometimes the car just pulls itself when my foots not anywhere near the throttle? also when it idles high it occasionally gets even worse, it'll sit between 2500-3000rpm revving its head off. Sometimes I turn it off and on again and it'll idle where its meant to at just under 1000rpm, have to do this a few times though. its a 1.8 16v. any ideas as to what it could be? RE: High idle problem! - Mattcheese31 - 29-05-2014 idle control valve at a guess . . ![]() RE: High idle problem! - RetroPug - 29-05-2014 ICV or possibly a sticky/dodgy throttle cable? It does sound like a potential ICV issue though. It may just need cleaning out, a dodgy ICV can cause sudden pulling when rolling in gear at low revs. RE: High idle problem! - PugRory - 30-05-2014 Thought it might have been that! cheers guys, much appreciated! Anyone know where it is and how to get it off? haha RE: High idle problem! - Nathan1305 - 30-05-2014 (30-05-2014, 03:56 PM)PugRory Wrote: Thought it might have been that! cheers guys, much appreciated!
