Not a fan myself.

RE: Cosworth wheels!! - Dum-Dum - 23-05-2014

Lee has had probems with wheel studs/bolts coming loose for some reason.

You will need to get the appropriate spigot ring adaptors though as the hole in the ford wheels is much bigger

RE: Cosworth wheels!! - Piggy - 23-05-2014

And £500 for a set without tyres!!

RE: Cosworth wheels!! - thebluepearl - 23-05-2014

Yeh I did look into prices, it's a tough one to get right, as the wrong wheels and the cars look is destroyed, I'm toying with cossie wheels, refurb my cyclones with correct paint or steal my 180 wheels back off my dad before he puts them on his despatch van hmmmmmm

Ford wheels are smaller centre bore 63.4mm Pug is 65.1mm iirc so you would need spacers/adaptors or get the centre bore opened out.

Really?, I thought they were 73.something for some reason. Thats a right ballache getting your wheels machined out then.

@OP have you considered the 16" mondeo wheels that look like cossie ones?

RE: Cosworth wheels!! - thebluepearl - 23-05-2014

A lot of work fitting the cossie wheels then, maybe stick with pug wheels get a set of 17s on it with a 20mm drop it'll still look sweet just not as sweet as a cossie rimmed 306!!

RE: Cosworth wheels!! - Poodle - 24-05-2014

Not really, any decent machine shop should be able to sort you out. You might find you need spacers, i can't remember what the offset is, but if you do you can just get custom spacers with a different male spigot.

RE: Cosworth wheels!! - Piggy - 24-05-2014

Yeah you will need 20/25mm spacers for standard ford wheels...this would solve the spigot ring issue too...but the mondeo 16" rims are a much cheaper option with similar looks

RE: Cosworth wheels!! - thebluepearl - 24-05-2014

Wheel decisions are a nightmare, you find the right wheel then have to faff about getting the right offsets and centre bore, will have to look into this one as although I love my 306 spending thrice it's worth on wheels tyres and adapters seems daunting

The Mondeo 16s are looking the better option at the moment due to funds, I have been searching for a set off gti180 17s but am only finding the 307hdi wheels

The mondeo wheels look similar to the cossie ones but no where near as nice, they are 16 inch like the cossie ones, but you can also get them in 15 inch from an escort.
Standard ford wheels are normally around Et38 so 20 or so mm spacers would be needed But the genuine escort cosworth wheels are much close to the pug offset as they are Et 25.

RE: Cosworth wheels!! - Piggy - 24-05-2014

So still want a spacer, and if you got some hubcentrics, you could sort that centre bore issue at the same time. Plus not milling the cossie wheels and ruining their value.

I think there are better options out there for £500 second hand wheels PLUS bolts, spacers and tyres etc

RE: Cosworth wheels!! - thebluepearl - 24-05-2014

I agree piggy, but for stance value those cossie wheels are spot on, it's a shame the cyclone wasn't made as a 16 or 17 as I'd stick with them just go bigger as the 5 spoke design suits the 306 very well
