Clutch Fitting Quote - Nathan1305 - 07-04-2014 Just got a quote for £120 for a clutch fit if I supply the clutch, is that good? My first car so not sure how much this normally is ![]() RE: Clutch Fitting Quote - Curt - 07-04-2014 Yeah, that's pretty good to be honest. RE: Clutch Fitting Quote - Chris_90 - 07-04-2014 That sounds good tbh when I shopped around cheapest quote I got was £120 but tbh I would just do it my self now as not that hard just time consuming, but if your no good with scanners get it to garage, just make sure you get a decent quality clutch you don't wanna be doing it again ![]() RE: Clutch Fitting Quote - Nathan1305 - 07-04-2014 (07-04-2014, 05:05 PM)Curt Wrote: Yeah, that's pretty good to be honest. Sweet, I'll have to get it done by them at the end of the month then ![]() (07-04-2014, 05:06 PM)Chris_90 Wrote: That sounds good tbh when I shopped around cheapest quote I got was £120 but tbh I would just do it my self now as not that hard just time consuming, but if your no good with scanners get it to garage, just make sure you get a decent quality clutch you don't wanna be doing it again I would do it myself but I have nothing to put the car in the air and I would need help to be honest, and I'm getting a Valeo clutch from Euro Car Parts ![]() RE: Clutch Fitting Quote - Tom - 07-04-2014 Thats a really good price if you dont have many friends in the trade. Yeah I thought it was very reasonable, the garage is called 24/7 Auto repairs RE: Clutch Fitting Quote - Seb_Ryan - 07-04-2014 Yeah 120-140 is what we charged, or 160 if it was a subframe job like mondeo or vectra etc RE: Clutch Fitting Quote - Nathan1305 - 07-04-2014 (07-04-2014, 05:36 PM)Seb_Ryan Wrote: Yeah 120-140 is what we charged, or 160 if it was a subframe job like mondeo or vectra etc Sounds spot on then ![]() RE: Clutch Fitting Quote - bigcheez2k3 - 07-04-2014 You'll be wanting some gearbox oil too, unless that comes in with the fitting. I'll have to get some, is it worth replacing the clutch cable as well? RE: Clutch Fitting Quote - Curt - 07-04-2014 May as well do the cable too if it's old, should give you a nicer pedal. Might want to change the fork bushes in the gearbox while it's off, as well. Might want to jot down your chassis number first, as they tend to say the reg isn't enough on stuff like that. Oddly enough mine did! Only one of the seals they had to order in for next day. Part numbers are around the forum somewhere... I found the part numbers for the two bushes. 2175 21 and 2175 20, I'm presuming these are right I googled the bushes and this came up on the gti6 forum RE: Clutch Fitting Quote - Toms306 - 07-04-2014 (07-04-2014, 07:14 PM)Curt Wrote: Probably best to give them a ring, as I very much doubt they'll have them in stock... Maybe yours are just lazy lol. As for the price, it seems fair tbh! ![]() RE: Clutch Fitting Quote - 306Puggy - 07-04-2014 I paid £400 back in 2010 to get a clutch changed but that was including the clutch and bushes. Even if you supply the clutch that is a very good price. RE: Clutch Fitting Quote - tigerstyle - 07-04-2014 That's right for a HDi, can't be sure for a 1.4 would have to servicebox it up. Looks like the 1.4 box is different. I'd call them to confirm ![]() 1.4i http://imgur.com/DyQC8wi HDi: http://i.imgur.com/lty3aI3.png RE: Clutch Fitting Quote - Toms306 - 07-04-2014 (07-04-2014, 07:42 PM)Nathan1305 Wrote:(07-04-2014, 07:39 PM)tigerstyle Wrote:(07-04-2014, 07:14 PM)Curt Wrote: Probably best to give them a ring, as I very much doubt they'll have them in stock... Your box is different to the gti6 one.
