Steel mani gasket-to renew or not to renew? - 306Puggy - 06-04-2014

I know fibre gaskets fall apart when you remove the mani but steel gaskets are obviously going to retain their integrity and already be moulded well to the shapes of the surfaces so considering that the last gasket I put on was a steel one is it necessary to replace it with a fresh one or...? Baring in mind I have already spent way more money than anticipated on this crazy projectNospeak

gaskets deform and take up face imperfections when you torque up the bolts,
most if not all gaskets are one time use, as they do not spring back to the per squashed size, so on refitting the gasket wont fill the same gaps and will leak

buy a new one and you will be good, use an old one you will posibly see problems

Should get a new one in a headset. I have re used mine before but i know it was replaced and that was only the first time it had been re used.
