Something fun and interesting for £800> - aaronshort - 30-03-2014

hey guys, im on the lookout for a motor now my semester is over.

I want something fun to drive, quite comfortable and rather reliable, good mpg would be great too!

And dont say 306 like i know you will, theyre already on the list, im just looking for alternatives!

Linky

Fun to drive, maybe not the most comfortable, but better than a kick in the balls, reliable, and great MPG.

Not a 306 either!

Dodgy I already drive one of them once a fortnight! and i can tell you a kick in a nuts may be preferable to what it did to my ribs last week!

RE: Something fun and interesting for £800> - Niall - 30-03-2014

lol i didnt even read that! hmm will have a think. £800 aint much!

RE: Something fun and interesting for £800> - Tom - 30-03-2014

Some kind of 4x4 little suzuki or something?

RE: Something fun and interesting for £800> - aaronshort - 30-03-2014

Not a fan of high up off roaders, just been offered a sj funnily enough!

I like lower down coupes and 3door hatches and the like, something with decent feel in the steering and good balance.

So most VAG products are out of the question! I know its not alot but im just look at alternatives to a modded dturbo or a bmw 323!

RE: Something fun and interesting for £800> - Niall - 30-03-2014

406 v6 coupe? Can be picked up very cheap now, fairly quick, handle ok and are dead comfy!

RE: Something fun and interesting for £800> - aaronshort - 30-03-2014

Insurance is a no on them Sad

£300 more than a 323i!

RE: Something fun and interesting for £800> - Dum-Dum - 30-03-2014

Scooby wagon, could just get a really tatty turbo one for that money

RE: Something fun and interesting for £800> - aaronshort - 30-03-2014

Again, insurance wouldnt even quote me on a turbo impreza

RE: Something fun and interesting for £800> - Pete - 30-03-2014

Saxo VTS?

RE: Something fun and interesting for £800> - bingham123456 - 30-03-2014

Fiat panda 4x4. So much fun in such a small car and that will go almost anywhere

RE: Something fun and interesting for £800> - Grant - 30-03-2014

What about a 106 quicksilver?

Will leave you with about £200 in your pocket if you are good. Enough to pick up a GTi lump and drop it in Wink

RE: Something fun and interesting for £800> - jammapic - 30-03-2014

Jag XJR!

RE: Something fun and interesting for £800> - aaronshort - 30-03-2014

Ive tried the saxo/106 before and my feet just dont fit on the pedals!

Im pretty open with the engine size, just the cost of the car needs to be low!

I used to happily drive mine with my size 12s. How big are your feet! lol

RE: Something fun and interesting for £800> - aaronshort - 30-03-2014

Plus theyre abit small for me

RE: Something fun and interesting for £800> - Piggy - 30-03-2014

Fiesta Zetec S?

RE: Something fun and interesting for £800> - Grant - 30-03-2014

MX-5

MR-2

Saab 9-3/9-5

The list goes on...

RE: Something fun and interesting for £800> - cpikey316_ - 30-03-2014

Saab is a good choice! Cheap as chips to buy and mine very much had a "middle aged woman" feeling to the insurance companies!

ECU remap on a 185 9-3 will get you 230ishbhp too, more if you go for the older, red DI engine!

Lots of giggles to be had!

RE: Something fun and interesting for £800> - bashbarnard - 30-03-2014

Daihatsu curoe

RE: Something fun and interesting for £800> - Curt - 30-03-2014

I would say MX-5 but everyone is getting one nowadays, so don't do that, they're shit.
