Modified car insurance - Ripshaft - 22-03-2014 The best insurance ive found so far is Brentacre. You cannot get an online quote, phonecall only. But the cheapest quote I got through any comparison website for mine (with clean licence, 5yrs no claims) was £904 for protected no claims, fully comp. But went with Brentacre for the same (with £500 audio cover) for a total of £387 lol! Google them if interested people RE: Modified car insurance - Dum-Dum - 22-03-2014 Yep, modified insurance is the way forward. RE: Modified car insurance - Ripshaft - 22-03-2014 Definately! I can do more mods at no extra cost, they just want to be informed lol RE: Modified car insurance - DazzaHDI - 22-03-2014 I'm with brentacre ![]() ![]() RE: Modified car insurance - Ripshaft - 22-03-2014 (22-03-2014, 09:04 PM)DazzaHDI Wrote: I'm with brentacre A lot more done to the car? Isn't that a bit racist blaming him for your insurance costs? RE: Modified car insurance - Slam Wagon - 22-03-2014 At least weve now got some one to blame. I hate that black mark, costing me a fortune. They said I can fmic it etc but if I get it remapped it will cost more, I reckon they're pulling my leg tbf RE: Modified car insurance - procta - 22-03-2014 I'm with brentacre with the 306, I was with them with the rover metro, bus switched to flux for the rover metro this, year. laugh is there is only 6quid between the two cars! RE: Modified car insurance - lolsteve - 22-03-2014 Need to give them a ring then, prestige tried me for 1500 the other day... Also lol at the black mark thing ![]() RE: Modified car insurance - Toms306 - 22-03-2014 They wanted £970 for me on a HDi with 'management changes', exhaust and gti brakes.... Needless to say I went with another insurer for a 3rd of the price. ![]() Modified car insurance - bashbarnard - 23-03-2014 Ill have to look them up and give them a call. My quote this year on comparison sights has been £556. Maybe i can get a bit cheaper. Going to try sky and flux as well RE: Modified car insurance - WiNgNuTz - 23-03-2014 Actually quite surprised that Mr Rowell has not made an appearance yet with all this talk of Black Mark! ![]() I'm with Flux for the second year in a row now, not long had my renewal, and they came up cheaper than anyone else i tried. Didnt try Brentacre though, so might try them when renewal comes round again next year. ![]() RE: Modified car insurance - Danny2009 - 23-03-2014 Brentacre are shit! They wanted £1800 for my old black 306 (here we go) Told them about pump mods and big blower ect told them it was running round 130hp When I asked them about the stupid price they said its down to the power and age but yet I could insure a 150bhp mondeo for £600 they went all quiet and didn't know why to say when I told them f*cking lady gardens must have been because it was black RE: Modified car insurance - 7057sam - 23-03-2014 Try greenlight very friendly and actually give a f*ck ![]() RE: Modified car insurance - Niall - 23-03-2014 (23-03-2014, 02:15 PM)7057sam Wrote: Try greenlight very friendly and actually give a f*ck This. Only reason I am not with them is my police auto renewed and I never bothered to swap it over ![]() RE: Modified car insurance - Toms306 - 23-03-2014 Greenlight will only cover you if your cars worth lots of money, isn't pov spec, isn't a BMW and if you meet their very stringent criteria. I was told they couldn't insure me unless my car was worth £1500.....who's 306 is worth £1500 these days!? ![]() RE: Modified car insurance - Niall - 23-03-2014 (23-03-2014, 06:52 PM)Toms306 Wrote: Greenlight will only cover you if your cars worth lots of money, isn't pov spec, isn't a BMW and if you meet their very stringent criteria. Thats not sale value though tom. Thats value to rebuild that car to that spec so you can very easily get it to that price with the car and a set of shocks RE: Modified car insurance - Toms306 - 23-03-2014 How much do your shocks cost!? ![]() What did you guys value your cars at then? RE: Modified car insurance - Niall - 23-03-2014 Mines valued at 3.9k which is what it would cost to rebuild it based on the purchase price of the car. Obviously i wouldn't get that much to sell it but its about how much it would cost you to buy all your modified parts new. No idea what my 'mods' would cost new tbh, powerflow catback is probably £100? GTi brakes £150? Remap £70? Still gonna be nowhere near £1500 for me I guess lol.
