Hard throttle. - Matt-Rallye - 12-03-2014 Hi all, Im planning on whipping the T/B off my rallye this weekend to give it a general clean and de-gunk and also to try and sort my idling issue, one thing i have noticed with the car is the throttle pedal is really stiff and quite hard to press. Is this normal on a gti6 / rallye? I havent driven any others to compare it too! Is there anything i can do to make it lighter? I would prefer a lighter / more responsive throttle pedal if i can. Thanks in advance Matt RE: Hard throttle. - Matt - 12-03-2014 It's the cable, drying out inside. I sprayed lube in mine, worked it in, and felt 100 times better ![]() RE: Hard throttle. - Matt-Rallye - 12-03-2014 Thanks chap ![]() I use Wurth Ultra 2040, seems to do a better job all round than WD40 so it shall get a liberal dosage of this ![]() RE: Hard throttle. - Matt - 12-03-2014 Get some spray grease in there and try an work it in ![]() RE: Hard throttle. - Matt-Rallye - 12-03-2014 I do have some thicker wurth stuff that i use so might give that a go also ![]() Thanks for the advice RE: Hard throttle. - gretsch-drummer - 12-03-2014 My throttle pedal in my 1.6 was stupidly stiff so held it up and dropped a load of engine oil down it..... worked a treat!! RE: Hard throttle. - Tom - 13-03-2014 I soaked mine in veg oil. Would recommend you just buy a new cable lol |
