Okay so I was wondering whats involved in changing a brake system on a 2.0 HDI PH3 to the GTI6 brake system as they are alot better am I right?

Ph3 hdi should already have a gti size M/C so its as simple as getting gti calipers, pads and discs.
Worth upgrading the hoses too, along with dot5.1 brake fluid...
Makes for an aqesome setup.
Just dont buy cheap pads...as you may aswell stick with you current 266brakes

Do I need bigger wheels? I'm currently looking for a set of cyclones, will they be big enough?

Yeah you will need at least 15" wheels. Cyclones will be fine.

I've used standard pagid discs and Mintex standard pads And it seems pretty good

Your rear set up is the same. As above your MC is probably also the same so when you switch to the larger GTI fronts then you will get a slight increase in pedal stroke.
the 266 brakes are pretty good tbh as long as you stick with decent pads. But I do have the GTI setup on mine and really does feel like it wants to stand on it's nose.
I use Pagid discs and pads from eurocarparts. Sign up for their mailing list as they often have very good discounts. As for brake fluid just stick with Dot 4. Don't switch to silicone based stuff.
Also get some pagid (or mintex) brake assembly grease (mintex sell it as Ceratec, can't remember the Pagid name but it's the same stuff). It's only a few £ and is much better for your brakes than copper slip.

If you do change the fluid...well worth the dot5.1. Its amazing.

Or just buy my brakes and enjoy better than gti6 stopping power with less weight and no need for 15" wheels, sorted

I say just get a decent brand Dot 4. No worth spending a fortune and decent brand stuff will be well over dot 4 minimum specs anyway.
I did spot the forum 25% discount, there is often 35-50% off if you are lucky.

Or nip down to your local ECP and grab a bottle of ATE superblue whilst it's on offer at a tenner per litre.
