RE: Bilstein B4 rear dampers - Piggy - 08-03-2014 the higher the number, the firmer...in simple terms RE: Bilstein B4 rear dampers - bigcheez2k3 - 08-03-2014 B4's compared to standard ones? RE: Bilstein B4 rear dampers - Piggy - 08-03-2014 (08-03-2014, 06:38 PM)bigcheez2k3 Wrote: B4's compared to standard ones? Im running my own set of B4s in the 2.1...I do really like them...firm, not bothered by rough surfaces on high and low speed corners...not too firm though either. jst a nice step up from standard IMO. reason I am changing all mine is that I want something a bit firmer to go with other suspension upgrades and not sure b4s on the front designed for a 1.9 are coping with the 2.1! I'm considering because right now I think I have standard dampers with TA's on the front meaning it kinda unbalances the car. Not that I notice but I know that it's not a good idea. RE: Bilstein B4 rear dampers - Piggy - 08-03-2014 Exactly why I want b6s to match my new front setup. Want me to find a price for sending them cheezy? RE: Bilstein B4 rear dampers - bigcheez2k3 - 08-03-2014 Yeah, go ahead. Won't be back on til the morning though, just fyi. RE: Bilstein B4 rear dampers - Piggy - 08-03-2014 Sure I can post them for a fiver...if its more I'll take the hit. £35 posted RE: Bilstein B4 rear dampers - nick000 - 08-03-2014 If bigcheez doesn't have em I, will mate RE: Bilstein B4 rear dampers - Piggy - 08-03-2014 Cheezy had first dibs...will wait to see what he says in the AM ![]() RE: Bilstein B4 rear dampers - Nathan1305 - 08-03-2014 (08-03-2014, 07:19 PM)Piggy Wrote: Lower?! Its a good idea to get uprated dampers when doing this mind RE: Bilstein B4 rear dampers - Nathan1305 - 08-03-2014 (08-03-2014, 09:43 PM)Piggy Wrote:(08-03-2014, 09:36 PM)Nathan1305 Wrote:(08-03-2014, 07:19 PM)Piggy Wrote: Lower?! So will bilstein B6 or B8's be any good if I wanna lower it RE: Bilstein B4 rear dampers - Piggy - 08-03-2014 the B4s will be fine. Im currently using another set on mine, and mine is lowered 40mm. All depends on how you want the car to ride really. if its just a daily, then b4s are perfect imho. Good also for some hooning. but if you are a little more serious then b6, b8 are more for hardcore lads, more track biased RE: Bilstein B4 rear dampers - Nathan1305 - 08-03-2014 (08-03-2014, 09:49 PM)Piggy Wrote: the B4s will be fine. I'll get some B4's then ![]() ![]() RE: Bilstein B4 rear dampers - RetroPug - 08-03-2014 IIRC B4s are supposed to be "standard" spec for gti models. Not getting that information from Bilstein, that's just what I've heard said quite a few times on the '6 forum, so may or may not be accurate. If I were buying dampers I'd ask for damping coefficients or even better, damper-dyno curves and then compare to standard if I could find any information about them. RE: Bilstein B4 rear dampers - nick000 - 09-03-2014 Take it Cheezy is having these Piggy? cheers RE: Bilstein B4 rear dampers - Piggy - 09-03-2014 Bigcheez has just paid...
