fuel light - ripp444 - 07-03-2014

could anybody tell me how low the fuel gauge has to be for the warning to come on.
many thanks.

RE: fuel light - cully - 07-03-2014

depends on the car
my HDI estate i can get 100miles on the light
my GTI6 not played roulete with that yet but i guess lead feet could rinse the light in a mile or two

RE: fuel light - ripp444 - 07-03-2014

sorry didn't explain very well what i meant to say was the light has never come on yet but the needle has been quite low (gti 6)

The bulb might have blown.

A good check is to unplug the sender/pump under the rear drivers side seat, the gauge should show empty and the light should come on. If it doesn't then I'd guess the bulb has blown.

dont think the bulb will blow as i believe its an LED Wink
