Water coolant light - LewisG - 04-03-2014

After doing my clutch and gearbox I noticed a plug wasn't plugged in going into the coolant expansion tank, so I plugged it in and the light comes on, but it goes on and off whilst your driving. I drive home from work which is 15 minutes, it will go on for abit then it will suddenly go off.

Is your coolant level low?

No its on max

It's a faulty sensor, probably the reason it was unplugged lol! It's not uncommon on these. Smile

So will I have to replace the expansion tank or? Where is the sensor

RE: Water coolant light - Toms306 - 05-03-2014

Just replace the sensor. Its just a push and twist fit in the back (engine side) of the header tank. Or just unplug it again lol.

Try taking it out and clean the scale off the two prongs, then it should work fine.
