Flat spot/ miss fire on gti6 - kentiiboii - 19-02-2014 So we picked the gti6 up today, it's nile blue not China but it's fairly tidy and drove well. Problem is though sometimes when you boot it, it doesn't want to go like it has a miss fire or flat spot. We're thinking because it has a air filter on it might of killed the maf or something. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks Kent. RE: Flat spot/ miss fire on gti6 - Midnightclub - 19-02-2014 Try unplugging the TPS RE: Flat spot/ miss fire on gti6 - cully - 19-02-2014 no MAF on a Gti6 ![]() check the fuel regulator vacume line or as said the TPS give the air filter a clean ![]() RE: Flat spot/ miss fire on gti6 - Midnightclub - 19-02-2014 Clogged fuel filter is also a quick/cheap thing to check RE: Flat spot/ miss fire on gti6 - kentiiboii - 19-02-2014 cheers, its only does it under heavy load. but not everytime just now and again. ill give these a tryand see what happens. it needs a service and cam belt anyway. RE: Flat spot/ miss fire on gti6 - ADV_93 - 19-02-2014 Do GTi-6 have cam position sensors? RE: Flat spot/ miss fire on gti6 - RetroPug - 20-02-2014 Mine does the exact same thing, and only when booting it from idle or rolling in gear/at very low revs. Worse when cold. Think it's the TPS, have cleaned and tested the ICV and recently replaced it anyway, have switched MAP sensors and cleaned it. Will be trying TPS soon so will let you know if this fixes mine... Cheers for the info mate, I've given him tps from my gti to try see if it sorts it. RE: Flat spot/ miss fire on gti6 - RetroPug - 20-02-2014 No worries. You can test the TPS if you've got a multimeter. Re: RE: Flat spot/ miss fire on gti6 - kentiiboii - 20-02-2014 (20-02-2014, 09:44 PM)RetroPug Wrote: No worries.
