Flat spot/ miss fire on gti6 - kentiiboii - 19-02-2014

So we picked the gti6 up today, it's nile blue not China but it's fairly tidy and drove well.

Problem is though sometimes when you boot it, it doesn't want to go like it has a miss fire or flat spot. We're thinking because it has a air filter on it might of killed the maf or something. Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks Kent.

Try unplugging the TPS

no MAF on a Gti6 Wink

check the fuel regulator vacume line or as said the TPS

give the air filter a clean Wink

Clogged fuel filter is also a quick/cheap thing to check

Do GTi-6 have cam position sensors?

Mine does the exact same thing, and only when booting it from idle or rolling in gear/at very low revs. Worse when cold.
Think it's the TPS, have cleaned and tested the ICV and recently replaced it anyway, have switched MAP sensors and cleaned it. Will be trying TPS soon so will let you know if this fixes mine...

No worries.
You can test the TPS if you've got a multimeter.
