take it out . .(about three screws underneath pull away rubber cover and pull spade contacts off power wires) now either clean and tighten the contacts up or fit another motor, i have a couple here, probs cost a bit to post though, it's very easy to remove . .Smile

RE: HELP WITH BLOWER - camoturd - 16-02-2014

RE: Help with Blower - Tom - 16-02-2014

Got a multi meter? Check to see if you have 12v at the plug to the motor, then check if you have ground at the plug aswell, the ground will have different resistance's depending on fan speed setting. Put the meter on continuity and it should beep if your set to fan speed 4. Unless you have a phase 3 i think they're different.

RE: Help with Blower - camoturd - 16-02-2014

Ah ok then cheers tho

RE: Help with Blower - Alex - 17-02-2014

One of two things, it's either the motor duff or the resistor pack. Both are easily available on the bay of E. All you need do is see if you have a feed to the fan, then see if you have differing earthing readings on a meter as you use the switch.

Good luck.

RE: Help with Blower - camoturd - 17-02-2014

I think it may be the controls for fan speed as turning it does nothing at all

Postage isn't that much for packages that size. I always send stuff using MyHermes. They're good because they pick the stuff up, no going to their office. You can arrange a time for pick ups too, or leave it with someone.

RE: Help with Blower - ADV_93 - 19-02-2014

I had this when i first bought mine, had to give the dash a good wack and then it'd start working again, turned out it was the relay. MELTED.

RE: Help with Blower - camoturd - 19-02-2014

Ah ok how much for new relay these days lol

RE: Help with Blower - ADV_93 - 19-02-2014

Not sure how much from a dealer or parts place, i just swapped it out with window relay and BAM started working again, sourced another relay from a scrap yard

Where abouts is the blower relay

RE: Help with Blower - ADV_93 - 20-02-2014

In the fuse box under the steering wheel... There's 2 green relays, one on top of the other, swap them round and see if anything changes, just make sure your ignition is off before doing this pal

RE: Help with Blower - camoturd - 22-02-2014

Ok after a play around I have noticed it is the blower speed dial that is not working

Have you checked the fuse for the circuit and power at the motor?

RE: Help with Blower - camoturd - 23-02-2014

Checked both it is the switch itself that doesn't work

RE: Help with Blower - ADV_93 - 23-02-2014

If i remember correctly mate, the switch is part of the 3 dials in the centre dash, it's one complete unit

This might help. Just an insight into getting the switch out, basically the same rule applies.

Ah was hoping it was a cable switch like some older cars but guess it the whole unit is broke and need a working one now
