dump valve leaking oil - DTurboTom - 29-12-2013

got this d turbo yesterday and today noticed the dump valve is leaking oil why is this?
the dump vavle make no noise as they should do any help would be great

RE: dump valve leaking oil - WiNgNuTz - 29-12-2013

As said on the facebook group, probably looking at Turbo oil seals. My first port of call though, would be losing the dump valve, as its basically just a boost leak anyway, won't do any favours. Don't run the car for too long without sorting the seals though, or you could end up with it running on its own oil, which is a pretty scary experience!

RE: dump valve leaking oil - DTurboTom - 29-12-2013

dump valve is going then lol so how do i sort the seals out?

RE: dump valve leaking oil - Jimbo - 29-12-2013

Oil is normal due to the.breather going into the air.intake

RE: dump valve leaking oil - bigcheez2k3 - 29-12-2013

I'll be honest, that looks ropey as f*ck.

RE: dump valve leaking oil - DTurboTom - 29-12-2013

omg lol so many answers but what answer is right???

RE: dump valve leaking oil - silverzx - 29-12-2013

+1 for remove the dump valve!

RE: dump valve leaking oil - Jimbo - 29-12-2013

Ive had dump valves (years ago)
And they do it.

Put the breather to a catch tank and it will stop, just like theres always slight oil in intercooler etc.
Completely normal

RE: dump valve leaking oil - cully - 29-12-2013

black oily is normal but not in excess

sack off the dumpvalve its a chav thing on a diesel

RE: dump valve leaking oil - Jimbo - 29-12-2013

Agreed with cully
That doesnt look excessive to me.though

RE: dump valve leaking oil - Chris_90 - 29-12-2013

Why not take the t-pice out start it up and see what the quantity of oil is like? This way you can see if it is excessive amount and if it is, look for new turbo, if it isn't then just get a new pipe (turbo to intercooler) put that on all pull all the dump valve stuff off throw it in bin Wink

RE: dump valve leaking oil - cully - 29-12-2013

excessive oil the engine runs away anything less is OK Smile

RE: dump valve leaking oil - DTurboTom - 29-12-2013

i dont no what to do lol :/

RE: dump valve leaking oil - Jimbo - 29-12-2013

Your car your.call but.seeing as its.not working just remove it IMO

RE: dump valve leaking oil - Piggy - 29-12-2013

Remove the piece of chav crap.
Thats what you need to do.

Leaking oil or not...it will be leaking all your boost.

RE: dump valve leaking oil - Jimbo - 29-12-2013

Surely if the Dv spring keeps closed under boost theres no leak??

RE: dump valve leaking oil - Piggy - 29-12-2013

Yeah thats why its as clean as a whistle!

still a waste of metal and engine bay space. Sack that crap off

RE: dump valve leaking oil - DTurboTom - 30-12-2013

dump valve is coming off for sure will this solve my oil problem though

RE: dump valve leaking oil - bigcheez2k3 - 30-12-2013

As has been said, it depends where the oil is coming from. If you have the standard intake piping, your oil breather will be feeding into that.

RE: dump valve leaking oil - Ruan - 30-12-2013

Breather oil probably.

RE: dump valve leaking oil - Frosty - 30-12-2013

When I had a dump valve fitted on mine it had a little bit of oil but no where as much as your getting!

RE: dump valve leaking oil - DTurboTom - 30-12-2013

if i take the dump valve off what can i cap the t peice with??

RE: dump valve leaking oil - Chris_90 - 30-12-2013

Probably better just replacing the pipe from turbo to intercooler only be a couple of quid from scrappy and it's only two jubilee clips that holds it on

RE: dump valve leaking oil - DTurboTom - 30-12-2013

night mare to get to the turbo though :/

RE: dump valve leaking oil - Chris_90 - 30-12-2013

Jack under sump, undo engine mount on drivers side remove the metal bracket, lower Jack and engine will move forward enough to get to turbo with ease Smile

RE: dump valve leaking oil - DTurboTom - 30-12-2013

il end up breaking some thing lol

il just get a peice of pipe and put it in lol

RE: dump valve leaking oil - Chris_90 - 30-12-2013

Get some one to do it for you then, you not far from Danny2009 or Jenks or I'm close to but you need the pipe.

RE: dump valve leaking oil - Piggy - 30-12-2013

dont need to remove anything...just jack up front drivers side, put axle stand under, get a torch and a jubilee driver or screwdriver and stick ya hand up there...
you can increase ya boost while your at it

RE: dump valve leaking oil - DTurboTom - 30-12-2013

chris i will need to get the pipe and will struggle to get under a scrap yard lol and piggy i have no idea how to turn the boost up im shit with cars lol

RE: dump valve leaking oil - HDIkyle - 30-12-2013

Might have a pipe myself from when i put engines in the sedan as i dont use them. But dont quote me yet as i did have a big clearout not long ago i will check
