Help me find some Bosch Type 3 Pads - Eeyore - 25-12-2013 Hello everyone! Christmas day obviously means I need to buy new brake pads... Looking for green/red stuff pads with a mid range budget. Im running 266m brakes on the 1.8 as they are the biggest I can fit under the fondmetals. Love the wheels but unfortunately I cant fit gti6 brakes under them :/ I am therefore looking to get some decent pads, discs and a set of braided brake lines under them! Ive had a look and they are BOSCH brakes but what shape pads do they take? I know it sounds daft but people are terrible at descriptions for brake pads ,dont have pictures and I just want to be sure before shelling out the money. ![]() I was thinking that this style with the round ends are correct? http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Peugeot_306_1.8_2000/p/car-parts/brakes/brake-friction/brake-pad/?101735208&1&75f071463fd87a7d4d54011d5c8d85bbdd1862db&000036 Quote:Brake pads sizes, from top to bottom, Lucas, BOSCH type 1, BOSCH type 2 Bosch Type 1? 266mm with Bosch calipers type 1: Various versions of: 206, 306 and xsara ![]() Ferodo: FCP1370H/R Mintex: MDB2012 EBC greenstuff: DP21234 changed my mind again. I think they are the incredibly annoying to get hold of bosch type 3s! 266mm with Bosch calipers type 3: Some 206 & 206 CCs ![]() Mintex: MDB2584 RE: Which pads do I need? - Seb_Ryan - 25-12-2013 Type 3, just push the metal clips on same as my 266s RE: Which pads do I need? - cully - 25-12-2013 these are what i have fitted to my 266'S in my HDI i believe they are lucas type ![]() ![]() RE: Which pads do I need? - Toms306 - 25-12-2013 Yours are Lucas cully, Sam's wont be on a W plate 1.8. I thought there was only one type of Bosch 266 with rounded 'ears' unless I'm missing something? RE: Which pads do I need? - Chris - 25-12-2013 The square end bosh pads are used on the newer cars so, 206/307/308 etc and we're never fitted to the 306. They also use thicker discs. You most likely have the round end type Bosch pads, but take a pad out to confirm. IMO avoid ebc stuff as I've herd no end of bad things about them. Apart from there new blue stuff range. I'd be going for mintex 1144 or ferodo ds2500 though. I have type 3 which seems ti be difficult to find any pads which arent oem/standard. This is really annoying. There are literally no decent aftermarket pads in this spec. http://www.camskill.co.uk/m33b0s3389p26663/Mintex_Standard_Brake_Pads_-_MDB2584_-_Mintex_Standard_Brake_Pads_ ^^ are the only ones I can find. Im going to trawl the shed tomorrow and see if I can find a different set of calipers with some more usual pads. RE: Which pads do I need? - Toms306 - 26-12-2013 Ah, I see what you mean now, springs are different, they look the same size though oddly! Wouldn't it be easier to just buy a set of Lucas 266 calipers? Loads of pad choice for them and they look better too lol. RE: Which pads do I need? - Eeyore - 26-12-2013 i had a look int he shed and I have a set of lucas calipers! Will have to test them to see if they fit under the fondmetals. Its so annoying that they arent 16" RE: Which pads do I need? - Eeyore - 01-05-2014 Bump! I need some new brake pads people. If anyone could spend 5 minutes help me find a set of bosch type 3 pads that would be great ![]() Found these but ideally looking for some green stuff pads. http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Peugeot_306_1.8_2000/p/car-parts/brakes/brake-friction/brake-pad/?101735208&1&3dc616fdebdfb7e293928a8f1d500dc5277247b7&000036 RE: Help me find some Bosch Type 3 Pads - welshpug - 01-05-2014 they look good but you can't just go off the pics. tbh I would just go with the branded pads your local moptorfactor has on the shelf, they'll be cheaper than £30 a set, my local does TRW which for a 283x26 C5 HDI was under £30 off the shelf RE: Help me find some Bosch Type 3 Pads - Connor - 01-05-2014 http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=220495549944&alt=web RE: Help me find some Bosch Type 3 Pads - Niall - 01-05-2014 http://www.ebcbrakesdirect.com/car/parts_pad.asp?part=pad&make=PEUGEOT&model=306&year=1%2E8+%282000%2D%29 |
