Car Cutting Out - Ashwoody - 23-12-2013

Wondered if anyone could help me with this.

Got the car out the garage yesterday and left it running to warm up, after about 5 minutes it started idling between 500 and 1000 revs jumping up and down trying to keep itself running eventually sorted itself out

today i went out drove about 5 miles come to a junction engaged the clutch and the car cut out started straight up again however keeps doing it.

any help?

Idle valve.
Remove, clean, replace
Or fit a replacement

Yep ICV. Can clean them but generally it doesn't last long. Once they are shot, that it and unfortunately, the pattern ones are not much better. A Genuine one is about £80 but its honestly a false economy buying the cheaper copies as they won't last long at all!

mines started doing this...only picked it up a few days ago, will have a look at cleaning icv tomorrow, thought it might have something to do with fitting my bmc.

Icv I reckon. A friend of mine had a similar problem and it was actually the power steering sensor.
