idle control valve

He has said he has replaced the ICV....

Was it an OE quality part? Do you know what make?

Are you in an engaged gear when this happens?

RE: gti 6 cutting out - cully - 05-12-2013

did you clean out the plastic port on the manifold when you changed the ICV?

RE: gti 6 cutting out - Matt - 05-12-2013

Made sure all pipes are connected properly to icv and the bolts are tight. The I ring in place on it properly? I know I snagged mine once and it would seem like I had a faulty icv

Thanks for your responses guys it was a icv from a local motor factors I will double check all bolts and pipes again as for the fuel I never have it below quarter of a tank

Reset the ecu
Can work wonders!

RE: gti 6 cutting out - Matt - 05-12-2013

^^ and that, did you reset the ecu after fitting the new parts?
After I fitted an icv, with out resetting, it would idle at 2k or stall haha

It could be the ICV again if its just a cheapo one. Alot of people have had problems with cheap ones only last a very short time.
