Help fix Tom's Mitre Saw! - Tom - 31-10-2013 Hey all, im boarding out the loft at home and was planning on using this mitre saw to cut the joists to length, my grandad bought this saw a few years ago to do his loft, he has since passed away and the saw was in my nans garage and she said i could use it. Trick being it doesnt work :/ So, plug in switch on, pull trigger it does nothing. No sounds no smells nothing. So i torn into it. I think the problem is something to do with those 2 metal tabs coming out the end of the motor that were just chilling not actually attached to anything, but im not exactly sure where they should be so im hoping someone can help! If you want more pics of a more words for anything and i'll get them, im here all day ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: Help fix Tom's Mitre Saw! - cully - 31-10-2013 those two metal tabs should attach to a pair of brush's that rub against the comutator on the motor RE: Help fix Tom's Mitre Saw! - Tom - 31-10-2013 Commutator being the coppery bit on the end of the shaft there?
