MOT failure - rocker8742 - 28-10-2013

Put the 106 in for an mot today and got a nice list of 15 fails lol hoping you guys could shine some light on the less obvious ones

RE: MOT failure - Piggy - 28-10-2013

seems like it needs a new rear beam.
a tyre.
front wishbone
Brakes
Exhaust

RE: MOT failure - Grant - 28-10-2013

Quite an impressive list lol

Most of the problems would be fixed with a brake overhaul and exhaust system fixes. Not as extensive as it appears Smile

RE: MOT failure - cully - 28-10-2013

005 006 rear beam!

RE: MOT failure - Grant - 28-10-2013

Got a beam here for £60 Smile GTi one too Wink

MOT failure - Frosty - 28-10-2013

I wonder if the rear axle swivel joints is meant to be the radius bearings? Anyway means the axle is no good

Grant can do Free delivery too to Cullompton

RE: MOT failure - Toms306 - 28-10-2013

Whats a lower bonded suspension unit (no. 2)?

The rest are fairly obvious as above, replaced beam and brakes should sort most!

RE: MOT failure - Poodle - 28-10-2013

Yeah, not seen that before, what do they mean? All i can think of is the wishbone, but they mention that by name elsewhere, so assuming it's not that...

RE: MOT failure - Piggy - 28-10-2013

lower suspension bonded unit is the front wishbone rear bush.
It looks like its bonded into the car.

RE: MOT failure - Rippthrough - 28-10-2013

Looks like it needs a new owner Wink

Lol it was a cheap car so expected some work will ask about the bonded suspension part tomorrow and the beam issues

No, a '6 lol, but that's no reason not to fit it. Would look epic!!

RE: MOT failure - puglove - 29-10-2013

Lol have you looked this car over atall since youv bought it? All pretty minor though

fairly simple tho. 3,5,6,13,14,15 all solved with a new beam

New wish bones &seal/hang the exhaust. Simples how do you need advice on that

RE: MOT failure - Piggy - 29-10-2013

I thought that.

new beam
new front wishbones.
secure and repair exhaust.

done

Lol I've done a few minor bits but its been sat for a while

i just wanted to know wtf the bonded unit was mainly Smile

RE: MOT failure - MrMemzi - 29-10-2013

All that write up for a rear beam? Jesus

RE: MOT failure - Poodle - 29-10-2013

The rear beam is a suspension assembly, not a single unit. If they wrote "rear beams f*cked" when they just meant it needed one new bush, i think you'd be pissed that you'd had to pay out for a whole beam, no? Wink

RE: MOT failure - MrMemzi - 29-10-2013

Haha. Good point. Ill go be quiet over here >>>

RE: MOT failure - ozonehostile - 29-10-2013

Looks like the list for my rallye after its first mot attempt lol

RE: MOT failure - Piggy - 29-10-2013

look under the 106...the rear wishbone bush (on the front) looks like its bonded into the car.. I guess thats what they mean

RE: MOT failure - Rippthrough - 29-10-2013

It is bonded, to the shell and the pin. Some bushes are not or are semi bonded, depending on the way they work.

RE: MOT failure - MrMemzi - 29-10-2013

Gotta love peugeot and there French ways. Yay 35th post. Gunna PM everyone now

RE: MOT failure - Piggy - 29-10-2013

they not bolted through the floor?!

Think they are through the footwells

RE: MOT failure - Rippthrough - 29-10-2013

The bush is bonded to the casing, the casing is pressed into the mounting, the mounting is bolted to the car.

It's the bush that has fail, hence 'bonded bush'....
