go for it, see what happens, adjust it to get the best

Re: advancing a pump - Atterz - 25-02-2012

You want to time the pump so that it isnt too advanced or retarded. The standard timing is perfect imo and then just allow the pump to do its own thing with dynamic advancing. However by advancing the pump it will normally start a lot easier, good tip if your tight and cba replacing glow plugs!

Re: advancing a pump - karl1989 - 25-02-2012

do i advance towards the back of the car and do it about 10mm?

Re: advancing a pump - anto - 27-02-2012

There is barely 10mm of movement on the bracket slots.
Its hard to tell you how much to do it by. Go in 1mm increments until it starts to get quite rattly.

Yeah, start of with about 2-3mm advanced then go in 1mm increments until it starts to get rattly.

You WILL need a 13mm obstruction / half moon spanner

Does anyone know where abouts stock would in relation to stud location in slots or would that be too easy

Re: advancing a pump - Dan! - 21-08-2012

It's about half way to two thirds advanced in the slots standard
