This I spent ages getting mine to work and Tim said they are not tested RE: Joey the VNT boosted 205! - Tom - 03-04-2014 Failed on a f*cking cv boot Some friend ay... Will get one of those tomorrow and maybe fit it tomorrow aswell depends how tired i am after work. RE: Joey the VNT boosted 205! - Niall - 03-04-2014 CV boot spreads grease all over your brake disc and ends up in you crashing due to reduced braking power and (seeing as 205s are made of cheese lol), inevitably ending up in hospital. Yeah, some mate eh RE: Joey the VNT boosted 205! - Grant - 03-04-2014 (03-04-2014, 07:55 PM)Niall Wrote: CV boot spreads grease all over your brake disc and ends up in you crashing due to reduced braking power and (seeing as 205s are made of cheese lol), inevitably ending up in hospital. I'd take Niall's word. His is leaking more than a hookers arse. It's alright though, he has 4-pots. Yeah and we all know 4 pots stop you from having an accident. In fact, why the hell do i even have insurance!? RE: Joey the VNT boosted 205! - Tom - 03-04-2014 Its not that bad yet! Could of got away with saying its shit but pass able, but he put something about ingress of dirt which failed it, theres no dirt that can get in it yet! RE: Joey the VNT boosted 205! - Piggy - 03-04-2014 Its a clear fail, no advisory for that. He could lose his job remember. He has been a friend really, it does need sorting as Niall said. Plus if left, it makes the clean up awful coz cv grease flicks everywhere!!! RE: Joey the VNT boosted 205! - Niall - 03-04-2014 (03-04-2014, 08:35 PM)Piggy Wrote: coz cv grease flicks everywhere!!! RE: Joey the VNT boosted 205! - Poodle - 04-04-2014 Just lol, i suppose he would have been a tosser if he'd refused to double the brake readings to get it through too. RE: Joey the VNT boosted 205! - Tom - 04-04-2014 Yeah i was just annoyed yesturday, been given an opportunity to work full time and im doing a 2 week trial atm and i really needed my car. But todays a new day, even after my 4 kip before going back to work lol. Will get a boot when im done here, and a new bulb for my driving lights and might do that later. Been on the go since 2am though so not sure yet! RE: Joey the VNT boosted 205! - Paul_13 - 04-04-2014 Just remember if he gets caught out that's his license revoked and his income gone. Happened to a garage around here and vosa are investigating all the others in the area RE: Joey the VNT boosted 205! - silverzx - 04-04-2014 FWIENDSSSS! RE: Joey the VNT boosted 205! - aggyj17 - 04-04-2014 Looking good buddy I got mine tax n tested the other day then popped the headgasket the next day lol. Shame about the mot but atleast it's something fairly simple. What oil filter are you running as there fairly close to the radiator and have you got any fans with your Fmic? RE: Joey the VNT boosted 205! - Tom - 04-04-2014 Got a new boot on today after work! Epic homemade stretching cone thingy Oh and i fixed my "driving lights" now it looks epic (04-04-2014, 01:01 PM)aggyj17 Wrote: Looking good buddy I got mine tax n tested the other day then popped the headgasket the next day lol. I running a 1.9 megane oil filter because im using a sandwhich plate for oil temp and pressure, i was using just a standard filter and it fit ok. Got one small fan on the rad (gearbox side) and it seems to do the job. It doesnt overheat when idling with the fan on anyway RE: Joey the VNT boosted 205! - Chris_90 - 04-04-2014 Awesome home made cone might do that next time I need to fit one beats stripping drive shaft down ay? RE: Joey the VNT boosted 205! - Tom - 04-04-2014 (04-04-2014, 03:00 PM)Chris_90 Wrote: Awesome home made cone might do that next time I need to fit one beats stripping drive shaft down ay? Certainly does, greased everything, turned it inside out, and slowly but firmly pushed it over, turned it back round and cleaned all the edges where the clamps go and it was all done Tesco lime cordial, that bottle was. I think fizzy flavoured water ones would of worked better but this is all i had at the time. RE: Joey the VNT boosted 205! - Toms306 - 04-04-2014 The cones aren't exactly expensive! But nice solution anyway lol, glad its sorted for another year. RE: Joey the VNT boosted 205! - Tom - 04-04-2014 #cheapskate had to come up with something because i couldnt do it by hand Joey the VNT boosted 205! - devils_fuel - 04-04-2014 How did you exactly do the boot tom, full instructions as I have a boot to do on the XUD tomorrow RE: Joey the VNT boosted 205! - Tom - 04-04-2014 Track rod end off the hub, undo bottom ball joint (undo hubnut first actually, if your wheels dont have a hole to put the socket through then put the wheel bolts back in so you dont snap the brake disc locating screws) then pull the hub out and the drive shaft out the back, flat head screw driver to pop the old clips off, cut the old boot off, then lube up the smaller half of the boot and turn it inside out and plce over your also lubed cone, hold the big end of the boot (which you didnt lube and can actually grip) then force it up the cone until it over the cv joint and on the shaft, turn it back the right way, pack with grease, wipe off the inside edge of the boot and the outside edge of the cv joint, pull the boot up over and clip in place, then pull the small end down to the joint and clean the shaft off then push the small end of the boot back up the shaft abit and clip into place also, then put the shaft back in the hub and turn the hub from lock to lock to make sure its not stretching the boot to f*ck. Then put it back together and enjoy. And if that helps some rep would be great because it took fooking ages to type that! Joey the VNT boosted 205! - devils_fuel - 04-04-2014 Ha ha you legend Tom, had a quick read and seems ok...I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow RE: Joey the VNT boosted 205! - Tom - 05-04-2014 Got me 12 months ticket!!
