Re: advice on a popper kit - 4WayDiablo - 22-02-2012

There was a guide somewhere... wire it into the rear wiper so when you flick it instead of the wiper going(dewiper ftw) it will pop the boot
As for rear doors mark has 2 lil buttons in the car wired up
Some yoy can get with a remote

Re: advice on a popper kit - kingy - 22-02-2012

i think the guide was on .net. carnt find one on here. never thought of the back door handles. mmmm

Re: advice on a popper kit - 4WayDiablo - 22-02-2012

Mark is probably best to ask hes done it. Smoothy smooth all round

Re: advice on a popper kit - kingy - 22-02-2012

You can get a popper kit off eBay for about £15.

As for doing the doors I ain't got a clue but i'm part way through installing mine on boot lid. Im connecting it to rear wiper switch, you can program them to aftermarket key fobs aswell.

It doesn't seem to hard to do.

Yep :-)

Re: advice on a popper kit - Dum-Dum - 22-02-2012

You can use the boot lock motor as a popper and wire it up to the rear washer wiring (or a seperate switch using that wiring)

I did have a guide on pugnets but i suspect it got deleted.

Im flat out busy with work stuff ATM so will you please PM me at the weekend and ill write a full guide with pictures.

If you come down here ill do it for you.

Re: advice on a popper kit - kingy - 22-02-2012

top man dum. might take you up on that. i dont believe what the rest of em say, i think your alright. Big Grin

Re: advice on a popper kit - Niall - 22-02-2012

I used a boot popper from a fiesta. Worked well! It's a piece of piss to wire up on the wiper stalk as well

Re: advice on a popper kit - Foxy-jim - 22-02-2012

The kit comes with a button etc if you still use the rear wiper like me! I used a eBay popper kit!

Don't smooth off the rear door handles. 5 doors are cool!

Re: advice on a popper kit - kingy - 22-02-2012

you say a peice of piss but dunt look like it to me after reading dums guide.

jim lad, im going to keep the handles mate, got a family of 4 so kinda need em.

Re: advice on a popper kit - Foxy-jim - 22-02-2012

Ye keep the handles! I think the boot looks so much better without the badge!

Re: advice on a popper kit - Dum-Dum - 22-02-2012

Jim its defo a piece of piss, honestly.

As I say ill do it for you if you want.

I will be writing a better guide soon and people dont buy a popper, the pug one is perfect. I smoothed my boot all in including the switch (heated rear window), paint and filler for less than £15

Re: advice on a popper kit - Connor - 22-02-2012

Could be easily wired up in half an hour using the wiper stalk and central locking motor

Re: advice on a popper kit - Jake - 22-02-2012

Just use original motor, mate of mine just wired up a button in his dash to open the boot , not sure on the wireing used though Sad

Re: advice on a popper kit - kingy - 23-02-2012

i need to get on this now. i will keep reading up on it and getting as much info as i can. think i'll go dums way, alot bloody cheaper and im always up for that.

Re: advice on a popper kit - springs - 23-02-2012

as Chris said use the boot locking solenoid.. easy to wire up either using the original pug wiring or just need to run 1 cable down the side of the car and into the boot..

Re: advice on a popper kit - hbomb1905 - 23-02-2012

I've used the Fiesta method on the missus' 106 and its a bit temperamental (Fix Or Repair Daily)

Will be following Dums guide at some point in the future!

Re: advice on a popper kit - Foxy-jim - 23-02-2012

Mine works lovely with the kit supplied!

Re: advice on a popper kit - kingy - 23-02-2012

Only really getting the wire through the car was a pain!

Re: advice on a popper kit - kingy - 23-02-2012

Re: advice on a popper kit - Foxy-jim - 23-02-2012
